I tried the big boy springs. Even on S it rode like an empty dump truck. I weight 195 w/o gear.

Yea, stiffer springs is going to take away all small bump and studder conditioning. I am 225 with gear, and have my springs on soft even before I got the star kit. I couldn't image getting stiffer springs to remove the sag.
Too be honest, the sag doesn't hurt anything because once your riding it bounces back up no problem. You may sit a little bit lower in the sled, which would actually help handling though. Its just one of those little things we all worry about when sitting on the sled waiting for snow and it doesn't bounce back up.

Same as above. I have a Nytro XTX suspension in my Apex.
It came with 1900 NM springs from the previous owner. I weigh 195 w/o gear as well and the "empty dump truck" is a pretty good analogy I would say.
I switched to the 1200 nm Nytro springs and it is way better. I may try the 1500's which come standard on an Apex XTX.
I'm thinking you need to be 250 lbs plus for the 1900's to work right for you.
As an aside, one click on that rear shock changes things a lot.
Pretty sure the Star Suspension Upgrade is in order for my XTX this summer.

Are the 1200 nm springs the ones that come stock on the nytros so you know?

I am still on the fence buying the star kit. I now that 2012 nytro xtx comes with 1200 springs . I am about 220-230 all suited up so Allen suggested the 1900 springs.
Does the star kit cause heavy steerring or any other ill effects like skii lift in cornering ?

--It was the only mod I did last year (before adding the tuner ski's 1/2 way through the season)....and I didnt notice anything bad.
--Sled handled the same, except a little more transfer when you dip into the throttle...
--Before I installed the kit I was pulled up one hole, and that's the way I left it.
--I mainly just noticed the kit helps keep the rear up a bit when cruising on trail, and makes the studders disappear.
--It also soaks better in the big bumps since the progression seems to have changed. I am yet to bottom and weigh at least 220 with gear and my rear springs are still on soft.
90% trail rider.
edit: I should note I do have hygear-like spacers in my sled, but they didnt help a thing IMO.

Sag is good vs sitting up at full height for ride purposes. It would ride horrible jacked all the way up!

Not sure .
You can check the parts fiche for your sled. The nm rating is there for some of the springs, factory & optional..
