I have the www.helmetcamera.com one, It works great i love the alluminum shell that comes with it so it doesnt get damaged. The quality is good they dont cost that much, they also have the button thing to stop recording. Im very happy with mine they have great customer service also! Go to www.tsufilmz.com and go to videos click on the one that looks liek its in the dark, This is video i took from mine in the dark with a dark lens over the unit. The quality is a little crappier due to it going thru the computer and me trying to save it as a smaller file. I will be out riding the yfz tomorrow with it on if you'd like i could send a little clip from that to you. Either way you cant go wrong with any of the units!

A great deal on a helmet cam

I looked hard at the Viosport but it was too pricey. I bought one on ebay from extremesurveillance for $150 and it worked awesome. I shot 20 hours of footage on a 1000 mile Northern Ontario trip in 40 below and the camera worked flawlessly. Killer video, worked great. The two options I am adding this year are the LANC (to start and stop via a thumb switch on handlebars instead of opening jacket to hit record) and a mic for sound. Too much sound isn't cool but some would be for sure. I used my footage and backed it with some of my favorit tracks and added a few comments and made a kick #*$&@ DVD using my iBook.

One thing I learned is, you never crash when the camera is on. Moment you turn it off, in to the rhubarb.

Definitely one of my fav toys on my sled now. Buy this one, it's the cheapest and vid quality is great.

I've been looking hard at both the helmetcamera.com and the viosport model. Heres my opinion, (I haven't bought one yet)

1. hcam has 2 resolution choices, vio has 1
2. the movies on hcam.com seem clearer than vio, BUT vio had actual snowmobile footage? the bright snow may affect hcam the same way?
3. vio is $366 for camera(300lines of res), cable to camcoder+ mic + battery pack + LANC control

hcam is $209 for camera (300 lines of res) cables, mic +battery pack, LANC control is seperate for $59...add $100 for a 400 line of res cam.

It seems like hcam has the better deal if you figure $309 for a high res camera + $59 for the LANC control your @ $368.

I'm trying to download one of the films from above to check it out. TOPGUNN what resolution camera did you get from hcam.com?

i got the 300 lines, if you get the extreme kit from hcam the little protection case that the camera unit slides into has a dark shield like sunglasses so it cuts down on glare! I sent a clip to myyamaha trhough email from the other day when i used it on the quad ( sorry for the mud lol) I can send you the same clip if you send me your adress
