FYI ...for those with flip front helmets.
I hit a tree with the front of my HJC helmet. Flip front did protect me, but shattered and cut my forehead and lip. I think my next helmet will be a full face.

I've heard a lot of questions about the integrity of the modular helmets, both on sleds and motorcycles. I've seen a couple modulars that were involved in street crashes and in all except one the flip-front had been ripped open and destroyed...the other it just totally shattered on impact.
I use a full-face on the sled and the bike...I don't see the point of a modular.
