Help!!!!!! melted cpr gas tank

Well after about 3 hours of looking i found a guy in il. and i called him. He told me the cheapest way to fix it. Something i never would of thought of. He said go to menards and buy a can of spray paint, don't worry what color because you only need the cap. Prep the surface of the tank and melt the cap over it. I said what. and sure enough it worked. I also did put pro expoy to make sure it stayed. But before i did that i left the tank sit upside down for 10 mins. and no leaks

There you go, good to go now!!!

I like the siding idea for heat shielding.

I ended up using a turbo blanket for a C-12 Cat marine diesel engine. Just cut it up and made it fit my turbo and down pipe. After sleds been running you can put your hand on it and not feel heat.

I ended up wrapping my header and downpipe, slotting the holes on the fuel tank, grinding some of the material of the right side of the frame to move the tank over more. The tank has a large seam on it on the right side that hits the frame and won't let it go over more. Added more heat protection on the tank also. Which way does the waste gate rod move? towards the tank or away from it? right now without it running it's sitting about in the middle. It should clear now. I can fit my fingers between the shield and the tank now. so i should not ever melt again. EVERYBODY MAKE SURE YOU SLOT THE HOLES IN THE TANK. Tank has been sitting full for about an hour now still no leaks. I'll take it for a ride tomorrow and beat on it and see if it holds.

AJ, did you buy that or snag it off of something? I have to figure out a way to keep the heat down on my rear mount...
