I own a 03 rx1m and i sent it to my dealer this past summer to get the oil usage thing fixed but after a few miles it started running on 3 then 2 and knocking alot then tere were oil all over clutch side of motor and in 3 carbs
toward clutch side and the clutch side plug it stripped and stuck in cylinder head.To make the worst of it i had to pay over $800 for the oil use fix and now they say that yammie may not cover this.BS!! Who else thinks that they should take my sled back and fix it properly without charge?

That's EXACTLY why I work on my own sleds.

Don't they give you a warranty with their work and not a 30 day but one that you can use when winter comes when you can test their work? Yes they should fix it no charge, I would raise a huge stink until you get it fixed, call yami and tell them about the dealer, see if they can help pressure dealer to repair.

I'm still waiting for my dealer to get back to me on what yammie will do for me but dealer says"I don't know what we will be able to do for you"so my hopes of saving over $1500 are fading.

So how many miles did you put on since the rebuild? If you reciept says the miles it went in with and you only have a couple or say under 50 miles I would take them to court if you can prove the miles. Just a thought.

Stick to your guns! You took a sled to them that was using oil, not spewing it all over. They screwed something up............

God that sounds bad ,I wonder if a rod went threw the block? You bet they screwed it up and they know it . they shouldn't even be trying to get out of fixing that .

Thats what happens when dealers work on things. Theres a reason they are nicknamed "stealers". (obviously not ALL dealers are bad)
Try to deal with it through Yamaha directly. Taking them to court is fine to prove a point, but won't save you anything...after paying court costs and a lawyer, you won't end up with any money to pay the repairs. I tried that before and its a losing matter even if you win.
I know about dealers screwing things up, but luckily not that bad. When they replaced my seat under warranty they lost the screws that hold on the black cover around the tail light, and the plastic exhaust covers weren't put on correctly and are now warped so thatthey won't fit right. Nothing I can do though...complaining to them was just a waste of time. They claimed they didn't even have to remove that cover...funny, since the seat screws are right behind it!
