HELP!!! Need some tips, taking sled to dealer tomorrow.

I have a few issues I need looked at.
1) I was thinking of adding the rear heat exchanger but I have noticed that the piece of metal,( behind the metal tube where the antifreeze circulates at the back) has been nicked enough by the studs to even bend a bit. From pictures I have seen on the Attak the rear exchanger loks to be lower than this piece of metal so I am very nervouse about stud damage. It seems to be safer to put up with the dummy light & put snow on the running boards when needed. 4- 2 stud pattern up the middle.
2) I was having a problem bottoming previuosly & noticed my mpg were down ( too much weight on skis) so the dealer stiffened my rear suspension up & moved the limiter strap 2 spots (think that means he loosened it to take ski pressure off). Now the issue is I have a lot of dipping & rolling in the front end. Also have a LOT of inside ski lift (quite extreme) since these adjustment, a lot more than before. The A-arms don't appear to be level & have read that is one possible fix, is that done by adjusting the front shocks & how???? What tips do you have to get it cornering better. I weigh 205 lbs plus equipment & typically trail ride fairly agressively & only venture off trail when needed.
3) I am planning on changing skis to the Slydog Race Skis (apparently same shape etc as the trail skis just heaver & more solid so should last longer). These are 6 inches wide, can't do powder hounds as my trailer is too narrow to go any wider than the 6" ones ( I am not going to buy a new trailer for a ski change.

Any feedback on these pts would be appreciated. ;)!
 
I can't comment on the heat exchanger, as I have not installed one on my Apex. I did check the coolant ratio this weekend and found it to be very strongly mixed in favor of antifreeze. My coolant tester only went as low as -43F and the needle on the tester went far beyond that. I've only had the overheat light come on once, and that was after running down a very hard packed trail in -15F temperatures. The light came on when I got going again after a break, and went off as soon as I threw a little snow on the running boards.


You can try loosening the front shock springs to get the arms closer to level.

The Slydog skis are a very nice upgrade over stock. I went with the trail skis and have put on nearly 1000 miles this winter and they show almost no wear and handle MUCH better than stock. A little bit of darting, but I have got it almost licked.
 
Check your control rod and set it to MIN. transfer. If it is not already set on MIN. and you adjust it to MIN. I believe you will see a big difference in ski lift. IMO I woud think to tighten up your limiter strap 1 hole from the stock setting and not to loosen it by 2 holes.
 
I believe that the Attak uses a larger rear heat exchanger than the Apex and that the Attak rear heat exchanger needs stud protectors.

I recall some discussion pertaining to "old style" and "new style" Attak rear heat exchangers with the "new style" being curved and perhaps incorporating the protectors or at least having a better provision for mounting them?

As far as geting your front A-arms level, simply lift the front of the sled in the air so that the skis are completely unloaded. Then loosen the tension nuts on the springs until the springs are just loose enough to slightly rattle. Measure both sides and make sure that they are the exactly same length. This made a huge difference on my Apex!
