Help picking new ski

help buying skis

Thanks guys for the price tips but does anyone know the duty on American stuff. I think I'll stick with simmons dealer out west and save the hassle with revenue Canada!! Been there before.

I have heard people with DOO skis complain about wet snow building up under the skis. The Simmons Flexi Ski has ridges under the ski to help wet snow escape. I did not suffer any snow build up under my Flexi Skis last season.

I also read on this site last season where you had to do some special things with the DOO skis to get them to fit on the RX1. Not sure if that is still true. The Flexi Ski installation was a piece of cake.

Regarding C&A versus Flexi Ski, I know Welt likes the the way they carve but has also complained about the effort required to turn the skis (might be the 8" carbides) The Flexi Ski is easy to turn, they don't dart nearly as much as others, they stay on top of the powder, and they carve on the trails. I also believe the wider skis help stabalize in tight corners. I will never go back to stockers. The first mod to my 05 RX1 will be a set of Flexi Skis.

I only got to ride my sled twice with the new skis and i Had the limiters sucked way up trying to get the stock skis not too push.. , but then i put on the C@A pro skis it did turn tough but now i let the limiters back out and have yet to ride it..

Trust the C@As might be a little less apealing to the eye but are AWSOME skis.. JUST ASK BBY he has had most skis..

Guys, I buy stuff from the US all the time and I grew up on the US/Canada border so I tend to know all the "duty" tricks...

HINT: Make sure that whoever sends them to you sends them to you as an item that costs $0 and they can't charge you duty. You can still insure the "VALUE" of the item but duty is chraged on what you paid. Birthday gifts, Christmas gifts and "GIFTS" in general as well as Warranty Replacment items are not subject to duty..... ;)! If you need a receipt have them send it separately. There is a "GIFT" spot on the customs declaration sticker that is put on the package to check off.

I do it all the time.

Hey I have a question.....will the Simmons fit on the 2005's without a problem? The 2005's have a "saddleless" ski and I was wondering if they will fit.

Also what are the flatlanders running for carbides....1 standard and 1 cutter or 2 cutters per ski and at what length....4 or 6 inch?

I have the 6" all around and love it, my buddy's get off thier lighter sleds and can't believe how good this thing turns. I average about 200 miles a day, some more , some less and my arm's are never that sore.
