It looks to me like the accessory Yamaha/Cat seat for your sled bolts up to the side unlike all the rest of the Procross sleds without the tank. All those use the bumper to mount the seat. There is no bumper with the holes on your sled. So if the Kimpex uses the bumper it wont fit. Yes its a crazy price for that seat from Yamaha/Cat. Would think it would be less since no framework is used to mount it. Must be the small numbers that make it expensive.

This is the Kimpex. See the dilemma. Is it going to clear the tank and everything else to mount to tunnel?

The seat comes off very easy, All you have to do is pull up on a leaver on each side to take off and it snaps on.
I love the sled for solo riding and for 2 up it the best I have ever used. U don't know the person is on the back.
The foot stop can't be take off with out taking it all of it off. Also on the inside of the tunnel pass the foot stop it not flat. So I don't thing Kimpex seat is going to work.

Mopar it sure sounds like that sled and the OEM seat is the way to go for you. Maybe get the sled and make the seat a Christmas present for your wife and you. Lot of $ but nothing beats OEM fit and no hassles.

Allan, what do you have strapped on back? I've been trying to find a bag or rack to modify. The hard saddle bags don't do it for me.I don't think the Kimpex seat is going to work because of the foot stop at the back as you can see in picture. The side if the tunnel is not flat all way back.

Have had to use the overload spring? As an update (I thought I posted this info already). I purchased the factory seat because the Kimpex will not fit on the STX146DX. The dealer gave me a great price because he felt bad about not being able to supply the Kimpex (which he really spoke highly of). The factory seat is very, very nice. Heated butt and hands with wind guards. It is pretty heavy. Goes on without tools, just push forward (hard) and it snaps in. As for carry gear, once the plastic compartment is full I will use the same system I used on my Viking. Northface makes a water resistant duffle with shoulder straps. I use velcro ties to secure the bag to the metal eyes on the frame. I see Allan uses bungee cords in the picture he posted earlier in this thread. Glad I installed the overload springs, with an extra five gallons of gas, two up seat, passenger and gear, things are going to get heavy in a hurry.

Have both seats, one on my 137" Viper is the OEM seat and rear grab bar upgrade that I didn't purchase the heated grips accessory, $549 for seat and$129 for rear grab bar, fairly easy to add and remove with 4 bolts and nuts...the other seat is the Kimpex seat for my 2006 Apex but i when with the 2011-2014 new style Kimpex seat that I needed to modify and extend the mounting brackets as my Apex has a 4" higher seat, also had to cut some exhaust cover so the rear mount would work, after all of that work the wife who likes to drive a little really has taken to being a passenger
needed to extend bracket height because my seat is 4" taller than stock seat
the previous pic shows the extended mounting bracket as above pic shows the taller seat height
material was cut from exhaust cover to allow the seat jack bracket to install
here is the exhaust covers that are attached to the red plastic covers when the seat jack is not used
