kinda clueless on this thing. Was talkin to gerryt prosser bender canada and was tellin me you have to change the jet in the pitot tube for high boost, can someone show me a pic of this? also what are the billet t,s everyone is talkin about? wondering if this one has them. It also runs kinda crapy at idle, seems very sputtery and very slow reving. i know there is lag but it seems extra bad. Thanks for the help. seems to pull good when in the boost, very nice

You need to get the billet T's from MPI (they are the connections for the boost for the float bowls) and you also need a wideband A/F meter to tune the sled properly.

On the right hand side of the sled just ahead of the foot well you will see where a stainless steel tube connects to the tunnel charge tube. this Stainless charge tube has a 3/8" hose connected to the top of it (this location is right by the chain case) Underneath that hose is a fitting that your pitot tube screws into. the fitting on top is just a holder for a spare (usually a different size) pitot jet. A larger jet in the pitot tube creates a leaner mixture, a smaller pitot tube jet creates a richer mixture. The billet tee's are aluminum (not plastic like stock) and are between the carbs (connects fuel lines to carbs) Personally I have never had problems with the stock tee's if you take them out clean them properly and glue them back in. I would recommend that you get your hands on an installation manual it will help you immensely with understanding how the system works

Lyle; good idea to install the billet T,s. The stock t,s tend to leak on higher boost if u don,t epoxy the crap outa them & sled will fall on it,s face.

I wasn't implying that the billet tees's aren't a good idea I just stated that I have installed and seen several that have worked fine if you clean and epoxy the tee's correctly. If you have any doubts about them or your ability to get a good bond then by all means purchase the billet tee's.

rxwhopper: About now I feel clueless also, but this picture may help.

The two red circles are where the billet or plastic T's go, and in the area where of the arrow is where the pitot jet goes. Just follow the hose coming from the circles, at the end of the hose on the underside.

thanks guys. ok found the pitot tube jets. has a 400 in one and a 700 in the other so what do you run in high? the 400? the guy we bought it from said he never changed them at all. said he went on high and low boost without changin the pitot jet

thanks bigdog, i know exactly what its about now. big help.what a great site. guys like you guys that make it so good.

rxwhopper: I run a 600 pitot @ 10 lbs, and a 500 @ 12 lbs. Sled runs great under boost, but I'm fighting with a lean midrange low boost problem.

I think most of the guys will agree that each of these sleds run a somewhat different pitot jet.

also where di i get a widebad a/f meter and where does it plumb into?

Wideband sensor goes into the bung in the tailpipe.

Many options out there for widebands, but if you are going to use leaded fuel get one with a NTK sensor, a FJO brand unit or a NGK brand offers these sensors.

Give Greg a call at Sno Pro Sports in Rosetown. (306) 882-2650. He's pretty sharp and has played with the turbo's a bit.

You can get the Powerdex AFX Air/fuel monitor made by NGK on E-Bay for $219 shipped. They use the oxygen sensor that is able to last when running leaded race fuel which is a plus. I got one but haven't got it installed yet, Ken.
