That kit will make power until about 15psi....just need to shorten the wastegate rod a bit.

Turbo
With this turbo and a totally stock engine what octane is needed to run at 12#?
I have been running a 50/50 mix of premium and AV fuel. This year I am going to run race fuel. It is 114 octane with a 108 motor octane. I see all the ratio/mix calcutators, just need to know about what octane is the bare minimum. I will probably still mix a little higher than needed, I am just curious.

Re: Turbo
IMO, AVGAS should work great for 12 psi. That's what I am using right now.

Justin at Full Power Performance can hook you up with a new manual with setup instructions and details on how that pilot tube (charge tube) jet works.
Also, he can help you with a turnbuckle setup that is part of the new intercoolers to help with it blowing off at high boost.

Listen to WOODSRIDER, you change out the pilot tube jet (charge tube) with temp changes and elevation changes. Get yourself jets from 400,500,600,700,800.
I ran a 700 yesterday at 11lbs of boost and 28deg at sea level.
For example...very cold morning..say 5 deg I might need to run a 500 to richen my sled up, then it gets very warm in the afternoon and my sled is poopin and running rich, change out to say a 600-700 or whatever you need to get it to stop running rich then if you ride all the way into the evening..change it back when seeing it run lean!)
Another example...I am running 6lbs of boost I will need a pilot jet around 700-800. Then I crank the boost up to 12lbs and I am now running 500-600.
Remember stage II was design to be 12-18lbs settings and you have a 400-500 or 400-600 jet right. That makes the 400 jet very rich. Elevation and temps determine this as well.
That is how that system is design. Fuel screw will get you ideal mixture from there the needle changes will give you better throttle responce and you can go up to get richer down to get leaner. And if your in a climate that doesnt change much then you can dial your sled in and it will work that way, but if you are getting 20deg temp changes its not the way to change them.
This is my understanding of how the system works. I have not been running it for years and I have been struggling because I made carb changes right off the go after I installed before I even started it up. I have spent a good amount of time with Justin on the phone and everything that I was doing was not the proper way to set it up. (back to the basics!)

familyman, what you said is all good except when you mentioned the "pilot jet" you were actually talking about the "pitot tube jet". the pilot jet is in the bottom of the carb inside the bowls and affects the idle and off idle fuel mixture.

Thanks I updated it.

My NGK/NTK A/F just packed it in after 5 rides. I haven't had a chance to check out why as yet but just thought I'd throw that out there.
