All I will say about that is that if you are that worried about weight you are buying the wrong sled. 10 - 15 pounds is meaningless in the real world. Buy it because you like the power, or the 4 stroke, or the ride, but weight is just not the thing to be concerned with here.

03 to 04 just a guess here but i believe it was 10 - 15 lbs lighter. The 05 due to the monoshock suspension about 30 lbs lighter still
06 weighs 17 lbs less than the 05 which says from 03 to 06 about 50 - 60 lbs not bad puts the new Yammi's at about the same weight as the competition's comparable sled

I was running a turbo vmax 4 and trail 800 I will be turboing this new sled and ice racing it as well as trail riding I have followed the v max 4 for many years and the one key factor is every year yamaha tryed to make improvments so if i can save some weight I would like to .some guys spend hundreds on shaving 10 to 20 pounds .I got my turbo v max 4 down to 427 pounds from 565 .but it took alot of work I was very impressed with the RX1 turbo sleds at the races they are getting alot of power out of them.I had 230 hp now i want the 330 hp. so what I'm asking is where can i compare the weights and improvments on these sleds if one year or model is lighter or better improvents i will try and find that one.thanks Rick

In 2004 the RX-1 lost about 5-10 lbs aluminum A-arms and lighter exhaust, more seat foam, thicker way bar with longer link for flatter handling, quieter gear reducer, revalved rear suspension, memory in the hand warmers all evolutionary improvements. Also the RX warrior 136 was introduced the 136 Pro Action had a very good ride. In 2005 came the big changes RX-1 lost another 30 lbs lots of magnesium parts, titanium headers, titanium hood brackets, more aluminum, lighter battery on some models, plus the new mono shock was introduced 10-12 lbs lighter awesome in the stutter bumps with great weight transfer, handling was further improved flatter than 04, more seat foam and taller bars overall an awesome package. The warrior got 11-15lbs lighter as it did not get the mono shock. If you can afford it get a left over or used 05 they are like an all new sled. The 04 was a very good sled my 05 is incredible.

thats what i will look for i usaly attend the grass drags and can always find nice used sled at the swap meet the more i save on the price the more i can mod it out.if i do happen to find the 04 (very good deal )can the 05 updates be made to it .are these machines parts interchangable?

Ok I am looking at the 03 manual. Dry weights without reverse 553 lbs. With reverse 560 lbs. 04 if I remember correctly was supposed to have been about 7 lbs lighter. 05 supposed to be 30 lbs lighter and another 17 or so in 06. That would put the 06 down around 500 lbs but we all know that's not true. So somewhere along the way Yamahas numbers don't add up. Forget about the weight you will love the sled. If you looking for a ditch banger don't buy it.

I have ridden one .it had a great over all feel i have owned alot of yamaha s and its time to update i have nothing but respect for the vmax 4 the sled that started the 4 banger ride remember these sled had the same power and damn close in weight you still see them at every race and I'm hoping the same for the rx1>I will miss the sound but every thing changes I also own the raptor and happen to love that 4 stroke.I realy thank you for the info
