Wow, what a great site. I just signed up today, but have been viewing the threads for about 2 months. So, you talked me into it. Bye, BYe Mach Z, hello RX1. About a month ago I bought a used 2003 RX1 shorty with 1200 miles. I've put about 200 miles on it and I love it. I agree with everything said on this site about updates. I too use a little oil, low rpm clutch rattle, everything else ir A#1. I just finished off the front end. Strait rate springs, longer links, 13mm bar, precision skis. Handles like its on rails, with little loss of ride quality. So here's my questions. I went out and played in the 18 new inches of snow this morning (northern VT), first one out on the trails  . I was impressed at how well the stock finger track (144 studs) actually hooked up. Never felt like I was on the verge of getting stuck, and floatation on this big ole sled was great. I am looking for advice on maybe bar hooks, riser, and or a mountain strap to get this thing to lean. I only weigh 165, and just can't seem to pull hard enough to get it to roll over. Had the same problem on my 97 Mach Z. While I realize this isn't a deep powder sled, I like versatility and any proven improvement ideas would be apppreciated.

Also, just updated to the 04 seat, and as luck would have it, while trying to lean it over, I caught my boot on rear of seat and rip, nice big ole gash. :( Any aftermarket seat cover manufacturers out there? Thanks for all the input guys. This site is invaluable! :rocks:

It seems your front end mods keep you planted flat. That 13mm sway bar takes independent qualities away from your front suspension thus making it harder to pull over. Maybe worth looking at the 06 handlebars and seat for your 03 RX-1.

Hey thanks Dano,

That makes complete sence! Any idea what an 06 seat would cost? That and a riser might be the ticket! Thanks guys.

I did a 1" riser on my 05 RX-1 and I really like the extra torque I can generate. They are low enough that you can still see the gauges, yet high enough to make steering easier. Plus with the 1" riser you don't have to worry about throttle cable length. I just installed the Yamaha 1" riser rather than another companies product.
