I've been riding the 07gt phazer since it came out and I wear out the spot infront of the skid wheels at a high rate. The wheels are 6" behind the front curve, and the wear is right infront of that. I'm going through the slide in 600 to 800 miles. I've thought about drilling holes in the slide to trap snow and maybe keep it cooler? Adding an extra set of wheels towards the front? I just bought some graphite slides from the dealer, he said they're better. THe track is plenty loose, maybe too loose? It's not ratcheting. I'll admit I ride on the side of the road for short spells, droping into the snow were I can, but my wifes Firecat and any body else I ride with's slides way out last mine. Any Ideas?

get a set of ice scratchers that mount under each running board. when conditions are bad, drop one down. we ride lakes in the spring with no snow at all, just blue dry ice, and the only marks made are from the carbides. the scratchers are there when needed, from thawed and frozen trails that are hard as rock, to packed frozen trails. they also stop overheating issues by spraying snow to the heat exchanger. the only drawback is you must lift them up before backing up.

sounds like the problem i was having with my warior in its 1st season. i had added the marginal snow wheels with little effect. what helped the most is sucking up the front limiter 1/4-1/2". slider wear was virtually eliminated when i did this. going on 3rd season on same slider plastic and they are only a cheap kimpex set too.

thanks for the ideas I'm going to do the strap first and the scratchers make alot of sence, might try those. I'll probably forget to raise them and break them off backing up!

Run your track as loose as possible without racheting. I found the extra wheel kit also helps. Factory spec on track tightness is way to tight for good hyfax wear.

Although the limiter strap adjustment will help with hyfax wear, it is not intended to be used for that adjustment. Be caerful making that adjustment, because you will be altering the weight transfer of your sled. Sucking the strap tighter will put more pressure on your skis, and if your front suspension isn't adjusted to compensate, you could experience an increase in darting, etc...
Always remember that one suspension adjustment will affect something else, and that will affect something else, and so on, and so on...
Are your hyfax wearing out completely in that area? Many Yamahas have been known to wear a majority of the hyfax away, and then stop wearing and last a long time.

Good point on putting more presure on the skiis, I already dart alot, I'm probably going to put dual carbides on a ski to try to reduce that. Maybe toe it out alittle too.
