I knew I should have just held my toungue and got some hard facts first. I called my dealer (owner) back. It was Halstrand. My dealer seems to remember ~25,000, not sure where the mechanic got 85,000. Impressive none the less, but still not up with Hondo.

I remember Halstrand's RX-1, definitely was 25-28K plus his Apex has close to 20k on it - retired and rides every day. I think Gordy's sled is pushing 20k as well.

Boy I hope someday people describe me as that 'crazy old man he is retired and rides everyday.' Oh God willing that will be a good life. My wife would be for it, keep me out of the house. LOL

Thanks Yamadoo... for the acknowledement along with all the others...
I'm flattered guy's to to be thought of as a legendary old fat crazy man, that is retarded and rides all day...
Yeah, throw Yamadoo in that briar patch!!!
Yamadoo, you know the rest of the story. I don't want to make it public, but I do consider myself very lucky to able to play all winter.
Seriously, records as we know, are made to be broken.
What makes the mileage so special is that it's been done on the 3 cylinder Genesis 120 engine.
Yamaha has plenty of documented information and 100's of thousands of miles logged on R-1 motor cycle engines and RX-1/Apex sleds, (the four cylinder motor) but the 3 cylinder, four stroke engine has only been around since 2005.
I'm going to ride the 2005 RS Venture to 50,000 miles and have another valve train check performed, just to see what it looks like. I will probably retire the sled at the 50,000 mile mark.
Thanks again!
Signed,
