I recall reading something in a sled magazine lately about Yamaha offering some sort of high performance slide (hyfax). Does anybody have any information on this?

They are made with vespel material added to the dupont slider. They apparently are supposed to last 4-5 times longer & are to be around $120ish for the pair. The only problem is that they wont be available for sale til probably the end of January.

Thanks darv!
They are $50.36 each on the Port Yamaha website which is over three times the cost of the stock slides.
I am thinking that I will wait for someone else to try them first before I spend over 100 bucks on a set of slides.
Are there any performance advantages to using these? If it is just longer life then I will probably just keep replacing the stock ones every year.

Rather than the expensive Dupont Vespel slides that are apparently back ordered, what do you guys think about the high performance slides in the Yamaha catalog that come in either standard width or wide width?
For my Apex it would be SMA-8CM92-70-HP or SMA-8FU92-00-HP respectively at $16.95 each? Any feedback on these slides and the advantages or disadvanteges of standard width vs wide?

I will be running these slides next to friend with stock slides & exact sled set-up all year. We ride every mile together so this will be a very good comparison...

Are you referring to the Dupont Vespel slides?

I just picked up the Yammi High Performance ones & the dealer told me they are graphite. Very reasonably priced for a Yamaha OEM part! lolBlue Dave said:Rather than the expensive Dupont Vespel slides that are apparently back ordered, what do you guys think about the high performance slides in the Yamaha catalog that come in either standard width or wide width?

I seen them on display at the Milwaukee Snow Show last October.
You can look at them, but you can't have them. LOL
