I just finished the Ulmer stage 2 HE install on my nytro. When I start the machine up I get a real loud high pitch whistle from it. Not your ordinary turbo whistle either. I've been around enough turbos to know better. Seems like once it warms up it seems to go away. When it is cold its is somewhat intermitant. There is lots of oil coming from the return so that shouldn't be an issue.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Call Allen at Ulmer in the morning. I just finished putting an Ulmer 180 stage 1, including upgrading the exhaust - on my 2010 XTX. Everything fits well. Test drove it yesterday a little - runs great.

Just went and ran it. It pretty much went away after it warmed up. I'll see what Allen says in a.m.

What's your thoughts so far? I know a few who really like their MCX 180 kits. It would be nice to have another more local option, especially if it was a touch faster than the MCX. LOL :flag:

Well, to tell you the honest truth. I'm not that happy with the trail tank fit. It takes a lot of work to get the plastic to fit. This isn't Ulmers fault. I really didn't have too much time on it. being my first turbo kit I've installed, it is very time consuming. I will know more by mid week as I'm leaving for the mountains in the morning. Allen has been good with the questions I have had. I will be riding with a buddy with a impulse kit so we will see how I keep up. Hard to tell how the power is as it just spins the stock junk maverick track. I will be changing that out to a CE after this first trip.

Does Impulse make a low boost kit? Let me know how it works for you. I have an 09 MTX that might be in line for a little boost once I have the time and money......
