ok guys i here all this talk about yamahas high resale value so whats this sled worth onestly, i see these things go on ebay for like 6000, when u pay over 10 thats not realy good resale in my book
anyways its an 06 apex gt
2000 miles
smaller sprocket, white clutch spring
144 woody studs
rox 2 inch riser
rox hangaurds
updated snow flap
bigger spring pioneer revalve
clean powder coated suspension rails

A riding buddy just sold his 06ER for 6200. Doesn't look like good resale, but compaired to other brands, it is better. Sleds are a poor item to resell anyways. They are only worth what people are willing to pay. If we get anouther good snow year and gas keeps dropping, the market ought to fair well. Long and short of it, Low sixes is about it. You won't get a nickle more for the mods.

A 3 yrs old sled at over half the value is very good, take a 3 yrs old car and see whats its worth over its new purchased price...jobs and economy right now isn't their greatest either I think its going to get worst before it gets better...sorry for the negativaty but its real facts and big boy's TOY'S are usualy not a prioratiy in anybody budget in hard times :exc:

should have paid no more than 9500 for the 06 gt new. my friend & I paid 1,800 less than list for our 2006's (snowchecked). he paid 9000 for his gt. if he got say 6500, i don't think thats too bad of resale value.

I paid $7,900 for my 07 GT when new; $6,200 for a used 06 GT is a great price. :4STroke:

My 04 chevy trailblazer sold new for $35K it is 4 years old and i recently purchased it for $10K..

These toys we have depreciate very fast.. Get use to it.. it doesnt get any better

i payed 9299 with reverse for mine after very hard riding for 3 year i would love to sell mine for 6k go look up polaris fusions those are real cheap

so i guess thats ok, someone talk some sense into me please, i like the sled but i dont feel it fits my trail needs, i dont take advantage of the power because 90% of the trails i ride our full of moguls, ive done the revalve and all that but i still take a pounding. My intensions our to sell and get a rev xp tnt, less power but i never cruz lakes or flat long trails and the 600 should have more than enough power in the low end and will still hit 90, ive only been able to open my apex up a couple times.

I bought my new 2007 Apex ER this past March for $7,000. $6,200 isn't bad at all considering it is used. I personally wouldn't pay $10k for any sled. Just me.....

I would say if you can get 6200 grab it the amount you can get could drop very sharply in a shot time . Economy is bad and toys are one of the first things hit .

If the sled doesn't meet you needs, sell it, life's too short to worry about it. :yam:

I got $5,700 for my 06 ER with upgrades and 1700 miles. Probably could have gotten a bit more but i wanted it gone sooner then later.

Dealers were between 4900 and 5400 for trade.

I just bought my 07 Apex RTX for 7000 I was looking and found 06's for about 6,000 some a bit lower some a bit higher but average I would say 6K SO I suppose unless you paid way to much to begin with thats not bad for keeping its value

I had an 07 f-150 lariat loaded, tv and nav. Paid $46,000 for it in Nov. of 06. Traded it in june of 07 and the dealer only gave me $24,000 for it. Now that hurt

American cars drop real hard. They say that the value cuts in half the first time you turn the key. The problem is that there are so many on the market and that they turn to junk so fast.

Sleds are better, but there are still too many used sleds on the market, thanks to everyone who buys sleds too frequently. Everyone who likes to buy a new sled every 1 or 2 years is responsible for the poor resale values because every one of these sleds is an extra sled on the market competing for the lowest resale value. Yes, the lowest, because the lowest priced ones are the ones that are going to sell. If more people kept their sleds longer, realistically, most people should be able to get 10-20 years OR MORE out of one of these recent Yams, then there would be fewer recent used sleds on the market and they would hold a much greater value, because really, these things are very well built, last a long time, and they (particularly the RX line) really haven't changed much from 03 to 09. Despite what some people yell, they are pretty much the same. Certainly not what people are dropping to "upgrade" their sleds every year or two.

Something to think about:
Figuring on a drop of $2000 between replacements, if you replace your sled every year, then since 03, you've spent $12000 on keeping with the latest. If every two years, its still $6000 and you still only have 1 sled (realistically, for a 2 year drop, it will be more than for a 1 year drop, but this is close enough to make the point).

If you kept the 03 rather than replacing every year, then you now could have an 03 AND an 09, AND $4000 in your pocket.

If you kept the 03 rather than replacing every SECOND year, then you could now have an 03 AND an 08.

If you just kept the 03 and put $2000 into it in upgrades, then you have something that is BETTER than an 09 and $4000 or $10000 in your pocket.
