I just hit 385 miles this past weekend and have been riding pretty cautiously during my break-in period. During the past 85 miles I have been giving it full throttle ounce in a while for maybe 10 seconds. I have noticed that my max RPM limit has all of a suddenly changed from about 10,200 to 11,400. I also noticed she is pulling a lot harder in-between 20 - 60 mph. Is this normal? I'm not complaining but I thought the max RPM was suppose to be around 10500.

My Attak has only 160 miles, and can tell that in very short 1/8 runs the RPMs are creeping highher than 10500....maybe the 2ndary spring is binding up. My RX1 stock would'nt pull 10500 unless you had a mile to run ot WOT.

My sled is basically at the same point - RTX that was underreving initially - now have about 310 miles on it and it overrevs - I suspect we are making more power and need to clutch accordingly.

Mine jumped from 10,200 to 10,700 this weekend when she got over 400 miles. It was still pulling I left off speed was over 124. Turned around into the wind and pulled 10,700 again but could only get to 121.

Me too.........cautiously breaking in the motor with short bursts up to 9500 - 10200.....now with over 300 miles on it....I don't seem to have a problem winding it all the way past 12000 if I held it long enough?? I always let off when it gets to 11000?? EVERYTHING is stock.....no studs.......nothin. Think I need some clutching? Also....what will the engine do if it hits the "Rev Limiter" ??? I have always heard about this...but have never had it explained.

I brought the rpm back down on my Attak after 500 miles by putting a lighter spring in the primary and reducing the secondary twist from 70deg to 50 deg. before the change I was hitting 9,600 rpm new and as it broke in it climbed to over 10,500. Now after the change I am at 10,100 and it will more than likely climb to 10,500 by 1500 miles. Higher rpm does not always mean more power. Isn't the peak power output of the 150 efi. just over 10,100 ? I think maybe that any thing over 10,500 and power will start to drop off.

Preproduction models were about 10100. Production models produce max power at anywhere from 10400 to 10700.Don't reduce the twist too much or your secondary will slip.
