My Phazer MTX came from the factory with the low (cold) windshield. I'm doing a lot of longer rides in sub zero weather and need more wind protection. Do the 18"and 21" windshields fit the factory bracket?
Also, has anybody had experience with the high windshield. Particularly, is the upper edge directly in the line of vision?

I have a high windshield on my MTX the brackets are the same. I am 6' 4" and I would say that I am mostly looking above the windshield by just a little bit It is close to being right in the sight line but I got used to it. But it is super nice I wear a motorcross style helmet and have no issues down to the coldest temperatures, it does keep the wind out of my face.

Yep, it should fit the stock brackets just fine. After 2 seasons on my Phazer with the low windshield I switched to the tall one last year. Wow, it is a whole lot warmer. The low one is not going back on

Here is a pic from last year on the ice bridge to Mackinaw, MI. While the short windshield looks better, the sled is so much more enjoyable to ride with the tall one on. G.B.

5'11" and bought a 21" and returned it for the medium 18" because the 21" tall was up in line of sight. The 18" is a touch short as wind smacks me right in the face shield and I need to duck a touch if it gets drizzly/foggy out to keep my shield clean

I just tried to switch my Stock windshield with a tall windshield and found that I could not get the bolts out of the gromets without tearing up the gromets..just wondering if this happened with anyone else and if you can purchase these gromets separately...any info would be appreciated

You will probably have to cut the grommets out of the windshield bracket. I was able to buy new ones at my local hardware store. G.B.

No sorry I don't. It was 3 years ago. I had bought a used windshield bracket to replace mine that I bent. I cut out the grommets so I could have the bracket powder coated. Your dealer can get them but I remember them being really pricey. G.B.
