I called Highland's last week to order the plastic cup washers for the front end of my Apex - parts guy said "I have them in stock and will get them right out" - sweet thanks and gave him my CC# - well the bushings showed up yesterday and they are wrong, damn! Called Highland's today and they said to send them back and the new ones will cost more if I order them over the phone vs. on-line -WTF! I purchased my sled from them and was very satisfied with the transaction - I figured I could call and order the parts without any issues, I guess if you are going to order your parts through Highland's do it online or the prices will be higher. Sorry to vent!

online shipping charges subsidize the online parts price - i know a local dealer that won't even take a parts order over the phone if he has to ship it.

Maybe I am out of line - I just figured that since they sent me the wrong parts and it was a phone order to begin with it that it might of been handled a little different!

Another option is to try the guys at Rich's in Lockport. Heard a few of the guys from there came from Highlands. I use both, and each has their pluses, and minuses. John is the most knowledgable at Rich's, and Dan at Highlands. Just way different personalities IMO

kevin @ port yamaha rocks!!!

I'd post the name of a place with cheap mail order Yamaha parts...but the mods (and wanna-be mods) would bash me on the head. PM me, if interested.

I bought a sled from Highlands, and when i got it home i started it and it ran rough like a spark plug was fouled out.I took all the panels off and pulled the plugs and they were all corroid on the outside like they had been sitting in water.I called and they told me to bring to bring plugs in.When i got there they told me it was not the plugs that were in my 08 rsvector gt.I felt like they were calling me a liar.I will never buy a sled from them again.I purchased a 09 rsvector gt from Riches and have had no problems with them. They will be getting all my service work and also future sled purchase.

I have had my sled serviced there and I am very happy with people and the service there. Dan the service manager is the best. Ron

If you live close enough to go to Highlands, then you should have just pointed your truck north and headed to Port Yamaha. I live near St. Louis, Missouri and get all my part through them; usually by phone and I get the same discounted price as advertised on their internet site.

I just took my sled there for service last week and will go get it when I'm able to in a few more weeks. Yea, 2000 miles of two roundtrips for some warranty work. That ought to tell you something about their people, their service, their trustworthiness, and their hospitality! I'll never buy a sled or have one serviced at any other place.

You go 2000 mi. 2 days in hotel that is about 700 dollars. My bill from Highland servicing to 4 strokes putting all new bearings in one yearly service for the other will be less than that. Go to the dealer in Nashville Il.

I have never had a problem at Highlands. In fact they stripped parts off a new sled on the showroom floor for a friend of mine. I have also done business with Port Yamaha and Pats Yamaha in Greenland Michigan and had outstanding service as well.

I was happy with my long distance sled purchase through Highland's - just thought a $15 part order might be handled a little differently.

I wouldn't buy a spark plug from Rich's! They are not fans of TotallYamaha and say not to believe a thing from this website! Heck , They can not even put carbides on the right way! caused one guys sled some serious damage last winter. If you buy something from them go over it with a fine tooth comb! I order everything from Port Yamaha. They ship fast and are great to deal with!

Go to the dealer in Nashville? They're the reason I'm in the mess I'm in. I wouldn't stop to take a leak at their place while driving along the interstate.....that's how much I abhor that dealership. Nothing but incompetence and lack of knowledge. Yami Customer Service knows me by name because of them and I gladly drive that distance to Port knowing I'm getting the best service in the midwest!
