Looking for advice on a header choice for the Nytro
The Hindle uses a slip fit header/motor setup right?
This eliminates the oem donuts and flex joints right?
Are there any probs with the vibration and or flex at this area with this setup?
Does the Excel header use oem donuts and flex joints?
Looking for experience with these two headers??
Thanks

I have had both setups. Yes, the hindle eliminates the flex joints, this is the way the header should have come from the factory. I haven't noticed any vibration or other issues with this exhaust.terez said:Looking for advice on a header choice for the Nytro

I had the Excell for two seasons, it held up great, but prefer the Hindle. The Excell uses the stock flex joints, I used the copper donuts from Sled Toyz. They both provide noticeable power increases.

I have excell with the copper donuts and love it so far, but I was thinking of going with a complete hindle system. I just don't want the exhaust to be to loud

Im in NYS, home of the trail police..always willing to write you a ticket..lol
I have the full Excell system..went thru 2 check points sunday, waved right thru..my buddy on his stock polaris 800 SBA got thru one no problem and the 2nd one they asked him to pop his hood so they could check his exhaust..i pulled over waiting for him right there..and they didnt pay any attention to my sled.. so i dont think the Excell system is loud or a ticket grabber..
I have no knowledge on the Hindle system, im sure it is also good... i have no idea how loud it is either..

Muffler loudness depends a lot on length....the longer the quieter. Hindle uses a 20" while Excell uses a 16". Hindle uses a core with smaller holes and their shell is smaller at 6" oval vs Excell who uses a core with larger holes and a 7-8" oval shell. The original Hindle system used a 16" muffler, combined with a bd reducer they were almost identical sounding...my buddy and site member yamahadan had the Excell so we compared them. The current 20" muffler is a tic quieter without a db reducer added as the added length give more volume to absorb the sound pulse...add one and you're even quieter as it knocks 3-4 db off. Seeing that you live in Ontario, the Hindle gets points as it uses the factory plastics and is visibly stock appearing....so the police would not tell by appearance. Both systems are excellent and make great power but the Hindle with full intake and mapped will make 3-5 hp more.
Just my 2 cents as I know people find me bias, just wanted to shed some light with regards to sound

I find that you do participate is "bias based sledding."

Lol, thanks Mike. Both systems are great and sound very similar...I just feel one has a couple more benefits...especially for Ontario residents where the law is black and white, so having a stock appearance helps cut down on any hassles.

i got a excell header and super Q silencer. sounds really mean. plus the super q looks the same as a stock muffler but obv better flow. no giant oval cans/pumpkin shooter look. only thing on mine that doesnt look stock is the turnout i added so my gas cans dont melt.

I have the same set up and like it but I'm not familiar with the Hindle so I can't compare the two. I did have to get the Excell header welded up this year due to cracking and damage caused by ice build up in the tunnel. I don't know that it would have been different with a different header. I can only say what I experienced.

And I have the mix. I'm running a mbrp header, with copper doughnuts and a hindle can. Already had the mbrp (originally with an ultra q) the hindle has a nice rumble, but not loud. Went right past three cops with no issues. Reduced original pressure the ultra created on my boosted system. No issues with my header or doughnuts fyi

Love my hindle setup. Fit and finish is second to none. Very well made and sounds pretty good. Nothing too loud and obnoxious. Never had excell but heard lots of good review on them. I also had the copper donuts in the flex pipes but I really like the idea of no more flex at that part to break. Hindle are used on almost anything that runs. Proven reliability.
