My old man and I teamed up today to put a hitch on my shorty. Dad and I built a cabin together this summer. If my wife and I decide to take the kids in for the night, we need the ability to tow in some gas, food etc. I have that ability now.

I'll take a pic later and post it up. We used the Yamaha design for some inspiration except for mine is all stainless steel. I told him it had to be stainless so I could polish it...

I'm surprised how nice it turned out.

As promised...Check out the pics...Thank god for having an old man who was a welder. Saved me a few dollars.

Very nice! I use our two Venture 700's to tow our ice fishing equipment out on the lake and it works well, however, would prefer to use my Nytro. Great job.

Nice work. Did you reinforce the tunnel closure?

Pulling sleds is a way of life for me. Trailer hitches are mandatory equipment. Maybe we should start a thread about the sleds we pull.

Great job Goddo, I am thinking of putting a hitch on mine too and getting a light sleigh for the odd over-nighter. If I could make one sugestion though, you should put a quick release pin in the tongue, the rattle will drive you crazy when you're trail riding without a sleigh in tow.

I thought about ti SB, but didn't bother. I won't be towing anything too heavy, although a buddy of mine says he's gonna loan me his snow coach. I wonder if I would need too support that. Pretty easy to fab up a couple of L brackets or something.

Goddo,

Where did you build the cabin? Near the LH?

You lucky dog.

I might have a group heading out to S. Ville the weekend coming or the weekend of the 31st. How are conditions in the hills?

We are hill newbs having only been in once going in from off the railbed trail just west of Corner Brook. If one stays in Stepheville, is there a shorter way in that doesn't involve tracking back through Gallants etc?

From Stephenville you are looking at 20 miles from the Cold Brook Parking Lot or a few more if you leave right from in town (which you can).

You can access the trail system from any of the hotels in Stephenville. It's definitely a little shorter from the Stephenville side than the CB side.

I've heard the snow is starting to shape up nicely. I didn't get in this weekend, so I'm not sure about a base, but from what I've seen in terms of pics it looks like we had a fair amount of snow and are bound to get a few more inches this week.

****EDIT*****

6 to 8 more inches of fresh last night...

A couple of guys from CB posted these images after Saturday, and we've had 2 more days of snow.

hey, great job! I was thinking of puttin' one on my xtx as soon as its here. I was thinking of using the short track's rear bumber, because the xtx's has a dip in the middle. If not I would just do what you did and brace it up also. Anyways, killer!!
