Honest demo report.

Well I went from a SRX to an Apex GT, Which was a tippy experience. Then I changed the sway bar to a 12mm and dropped the front end spring load and loosened off the limiter strap. The rear transfer is set to mid. I can corner just about as flat as a SRX using allot of body weigh on the right snow. So now I jump on Turks new Nitro that has a Hauk fuel controller and Dragonfly clutching with cobra track (300 hours of set up time) and this thing is insane. Here is the deal, it is a dirt bike and a hand full, and it makes you work up a sweat. The sled takes some getting used to, but once you have ridden 20 hours of seat time you would never give it up. If you want to ride a couch don’t buy a Nitro. I agree that the demo ride sleds are set up like poo and the skis and carbides are crap. What else is new? Every new Doo XP I have ridden is hard to steer and feels numb. You have to ride a buddy’s sled that is set up close to your weight and riding style & get some seat time before you plop down the $$$.

;)! ;)! :yam: If yours handles like a srx then I'd say you did your home work........ Because those sleds could turn.. I guess my whole point here was that I blame yammie for trying to impress people with the latest and greatest sleds, but put them out there to be judged by riders that have thier own sleds dialed in perfect.. Then "like I did",ride undialed great sleds with terrible carbides and shock adjustments all wrong for the rider... Does anyone out there agree with me??? I couldn't believe how many guys were bad mouthing the new iron after riding them.. Very sad.. MM.

Note to self: Price of new sled + $1000.00 for tweaking.
;)!

yup

MM, your 100% correct. While the Nytro has potential, it is horrible out of the box. I don't think you will find on person who likes the OEM calibrations. This is bad, many guys want to drop their $ and just ride, and so they should. And yes, Yamaha would be stupid to let people demo a stock sled.

Maybe it's a good thing, the feed back might wake them up a bit......NOT.

I would bet that everyone who took their first ride on their new Nytro had the same feelings as myslef........eh, what a motor......er, what a mule.

cheers, Brian

My buddy chad RIDESRX on here... bought a 07 nytro last year, and hated it. He actually wanted his old viper back... I rode it and told him he needed a 13mm swaybar and some pilot skis.. (thinking i dont know what im talking about he only installed a 12mm bar)

Later on i rode his sled, and told him flat out.. YOUR STOCK SKIS SUCK.. gets some pilots.... Stock skis bite too hard, have to high of a keel and cause ski lift..

End of story... he got some pilots and cant believe the difference even with only 4 inch caribides they are better than stock skis..

What does the bottom profile look like on pilot skis?????? Single or double keels ????? MM.

the bottom of the ski looks like a simons ski but with a carbide in the middle.. hard to explain.. it in fact has 3 keels, but none that aggressive as the yamaha ski

So what your saying is the sled should be set up for what? When did everybody who rides a snowmobile have and want the same settings. Stock settings are a baseline, you adjust to your likes. Kinda like when you buy a new car you have to adjust mirrors, seats etc and typically when your tires need replacing, you go to a different style (one to suite your area / conditions). No OEM will ever make a perfect sled, (not because they don't try but because of CUSTOMER opinions)

Braking... The same.
Comfort... Not as good... By the way, my wifes rides a 01 V-max and that feels like i'm on the ground compared to my vector..
Wind protection. Not good.
Motor pull.. Excellent!!!!!!!!!!
Handle bar. Yuk!!!!
Gauges, Yuk!
Seat comfort. Not enough seat time.. But not as comfy as my old trusty vector.
"ALL" these things could be addressed to fit me better, but to me it's not my style... I can't stand the revs either.. I don't care for my buddies new 08 vector over mine.. Feels like I'm going to get a nose bleed.
Now, how's that for a honest report.... MM. :-o :exc:[/quote]

Much better, just do not know how way cool Yuk and comfy are.
