I finished up the turbo install and went to put the hood on today and the intercooler is holding the hood from closing all the way. Its a Simons CPR turbo and everything went together great, the intercooler fits in very well and I'm sure its installed properly. Has anyone else run in to this and what did you do to fix it? I can possibly grind some material off the shock mounts to let it fit down farther but it is hitting up by the intake near the carbs.
Is the nose of your sled bent down? Been strapping it down to the trailer to tight? Bump into something? Rolled it down a mountain? It is going to be tight if your hinges and belly pan are down a inch... Just a idea

You need to do the filter mod. Look up blue by you 2000 and see the pics.

Thanks for the link SuperTurbo, but this is another problem. Even with the filter out the hood is held up, but pull the intercooler and it sits right down. This sled has never been rolled and doesn't get strapped down by the bumper either. I guess for now I will space up the front of the hood and find a happy medium.

Hi,
I am on break at work so I can't go out and look at my sled but I remember having a problem with the intercooler setting in there just right, wish I could remember what I did.

Yes, that is correct! The ridges running along the underside of the hood hits the plenum/ box area of the intercooler. You can remove some of the material on the undrside of the hood.......but that usually won't make any difference, except weaken your hood. You can live with it or try to move your hinge up or send out your intercooler & move the thoats up about 1/4". This will drop down your intercooler. The latter is the most expensive method........of course
