Hope this helps the tunnel icing?

Why and where is all the moisture coming from to create all this ice? Is the warm air in the tunnel creating this? Or is the exhaust making the tunnel itself warm?

I think most of us agree that the snow hits the hot pipe / muffler and vaporizes into steam. Then builds up as ice as it touches on the cool tunnel and protectors.
Growing slowly at first, but at some point it hits a rapid rate of collection.

yeah, I believe this to be correct.

I agree totally. So my tunnel is blocked off to the front of the silencer/muffler now when snow is kicked up instead of hitting a very hot steel exhaust and
1 melting creating ice on the inside of the tunnel it now actually gets to where its suppossed to go. As i quoted in any condition other than powder i always have had problems with the nytro poping the warning/over heat light coming on. So i really am over the moon about it. I did the same with the wifes phazer and that also cured her icing problems inner and outer a few years back, and have never had a problem with any of the plastics melting etc.

I just road 210 miles in michigan this on satuday. My block off worked great no ice up.

I just made a tunnel block off out of some 14 gauge aluminum. Not to hard to do, if you have the right tools. I mean mine is no engineering marvel, but it should do the trick. Mine is mounted directly to the underside of the tunnel, above the tunnel protectors. Its from the stock muffler, back.
