Hey guys, i was thinkin about going out for the ride dec 17-19, and was wondering if anyone in the northeast was thinking about going? if i go ill be taking my truck, 08 f250 superduty. Crew cab lariat diesel. Room for 5 coomfortably, i just dont have a trailer. if anyone else is thinking about going let me know maybe we can work something out!

You guys akould think about one of the Munising rides! A couple hours closer, a lot more site members three and a lot of options for riding between trail and off trail.
Thought about that too. saw allan and rock were going to houghton, would love to ride with them guys. which ride would you suggest??

The Muni rides are a blast. WAYYYYYY more TY'ers are at the Muni rides. Just to the south a touch of Houghton is WAYYYYYYYYY more off trail.
So it all depends on what you are looking for.
If it is POW and off trail stick to the west side of the UP. Early Dec can be a little tricky for off trail in the UP. LOTS of stumps and stuff. I would go a little later.
If ya wanna hangout and hang with fellow TY'ers the Muni Give-Away ride is the one to go on.

Alright cool thanks! im more of a trail rider, i just have a FX nytro 121 but it would still be cool to get out that way and hangout with my fellow TYers

Would love to go...but (just under) 1,000 mile drive each way is a little too much for me! Would have to take off 2 weeks to make it worth it...lol. Maybe when I am retired like BBW and got nothing but time on my hands.
Looks about 811 mile drive to Munising for you Gordon...another 140 miles (2 and a half hours) to Houghton, Mi.

Yea, even that is farther than i was thinking....but hey if got a group of guy it would be fun! def have to make it more than a 2 day trip though.

Frogg hit it right on the head! I would not want to steer you away from any ride! The Munising rides have several more members, they are later in the year which allows for more snowfall. We are going to have a few options for each day, 1 group off trail, 1 group high speed trail running, 1 group sight seeing, there is going to be a lot of different options and several guides. We will have riders meetings each night to determine who is going where and when they are leaving in the AM, so nobody is confused or gets left behind! Also, there are some guys who just go on there own and are always willing to let others tag along. The fun part is hanging out in the lounge/lobby in the evening and talking with everyone and then deciding which group to hook up with. Rock from yamaheater,Kurt from sledstart, Chris from Lake Effect will be on every TY ride and I also heard that Allen was coming over for his first TY ride ever but that is the Houghton. We have members come from Canada, Minnesotta, Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Maine, Mississippi and I have never heard 1 bad word about it not being worth the trip!2008FxNytro said:

Like Mark said, Every TY Ride it worth the trip, no matter where you're driving from. Great bunch of people, and always a good time.
