I haven't had much of a chance to climb with my Heavy Hitters setup yet. When I did there was a very hard snow floor I was just breaking through about 6-8" down and I think it was stealing RPM. I was only turning 9,600ish climbing with the same set up that yielded 10,500ish on the trail. Have you noticed a considereable RPM drop from your trail or boondocking RPM while climbing with Heavy Hitters?
I am using 15mm rollers,I'm wondering if the stock 16.5mm for the RX-1M would be a better choice for backshift and RPM retention while climbing? Any experiences you could pass on would be appreciated. PB

hey pb it climbs great when the rpm is there.the setup from the hh thread that i used works good for me at 6000ft. just going to a bit more heel weight to bring down the rpms when putting around.i did boondock with it a bit and it was great . a few times i thought oh oh here we go ganna get stuck with this pig but oh no she got up and went .but then again i`m 250 lbs so i have the weight to move her around  .

Thanks Hardcore, that's good to hear. What setup are you running?
Primary spring?
Secondary spring with twist?
Helix?
I'm guessing 3/4" in the heel
what in the center and tip?
What RPM are you turning while climbing?

For 4,000 feet and racing I have 3/4 + 1/4 in the heel. 7/16 steel with 2 thin washers in the center and 7/16 steel in tip with NO washers. It pulls 10,600 on the hardpack and 10,300+ in the loose. I have the ECP filters and the White Knuckle pipe as well.
For powder and climbing I was going to try just the 3/4" in the heel. and 7/16 steel bolts only in the center and tip. Am I close? PB

for me right now i`m running 1/4 heel, 3/8 steel mid/ 3/8 aluminum tip. climbing at 6000ft it hit runs between 10300 to 10500 and does not drop.usuing the the stock o/s/o primary and stock secondary wrapped at 80 using a 47/41 helix. have my airbox drilled running 165 and the red holtzman springs.

but my next trip out i`m going to the 3/4 heel , only because the rpms are a little to high when putting around plus when i would punch the throttle it would shoot up to 11000 rpm then come back to the sweet spot.also going to the silver secondary wrapped at 90 see how it does.turk says that the clutches should perform better with the silver.

will keep u posted hoping this weekend to get to whistler weather permitting .

Thanks, yeah I'd go with the 3/4 in the heel for sure. You might want to add a washer under your bolt in the center hole too? You aren't using any washers now right?
I like the O/S/O spring too. I am running the silver secondary spring at 80 degrees. I have tried 60-100 degrees and 80 was the sweet spot in my humble opinion (for the type of riding I was doing). I am using a Dalton 54/42 helix.
Thanks for the info. PB
