how close are the trails from opening in northern ontraio?

i just came back from ottawa, there is nothing much to report from ottawa to earlton. Earlton north is getting better, timmins, cochrane iroquois falls got it good, I actually saw that the groomer was out today in iroquois falls.

I see a few trails aound Cochrane just went Limited , and some over around Kap are green , hope a few go green around cochrane soon for our trip on the 27th on :4STroke:

Timmins Update - Groomers have been rolling and are working on packing trails in the area. A few swamps have been given the operators some issues. I was out last night on my sled packing trying to get a jump on a few other problem swamps before the groomers get to those areas.

Side note, I just received word that one of the major re-routes I had been working on is good to go, so the L22 will be open this year thanks to a few new landowners and the City of Timmins.

Has anybody heard what the trail conditions are from pembroke to north bay, I have this week off and wonder how far I have to travel. Also how is the Quebec side doin, I see on there website that a fair amount of there trails around mt tremblent are limited to acceptable.
Thanks

I am afraid this year is going to be a bad one, the cold still isn't here up and down the a toilet seat, lets hope its just a rumour!

Pete , I hope that is not true, I was told 6-8 good ice a week ago , let me know if you hear more !!

Muskoka Man , just watched the vid , looks awesome,Looks like a normal winter there. Did they get the groomer out ?

No idea who it was.

It is supposed to turn cold in the next couple of days. I am going to try to make the trek up to the camp hopefully on Wednesday. The big water had only an inch as of a couple of days ago and my camp is on the big water, 10 miles up.

Kinda scary to go up with 2.25 in paddle tracks with no traction cuz there is not much snow on the ice.

Be carful not worth the risk.

I had to save one of our 6 month old goldens in the spring , got her out , but I couldn't get out,had a friend come along and help , opened my eyes wide open !!!

This year I have a 250ft rope and a life boey at the dock just in case !!

here in the north, lakes are pretty safe,we had cold weather and no snow,3 weeks ago we had 8'' on small lakes, now lake timiskaming is froze solid, lots of ice huts and trucks all over,we rode 30 miles on a lake today

Trails are open and some are groomed with approx. 12'' of snow here in pontiac area.Farmers plowed fields need more snow but the 50 miles of rail bed is good!!! :jump:
