I have a 2011 Apex. First Apex I've owned and I'm just loving it. Just can't seem to wipe that grin off my face after a ride. I'll be needing to change the oil and filter soon and I can't find anywhere in the owners manual how to change to filter other than take it to a dealer. I've seen posts here on the older sleds. Is the 2011 the same for that filter change?

Well it's basically the same motor as earlier models, so I bet the oil filter location is in the exact same spot. My guess you should follow the smae plans.
Things may look a tad different in there and some bolts may have been moved some, but I bet generally it's the same process.

havent torn mine apart for its first change but looking through the manual i thought i might encounter some new problems with the airbox and not so. the pod, airbox battery tray, battery are all removed the same way it looks like. did notice less space in the nose on the count of having eps brains there now

The manual is vague at best on filter change, basically all the front panels have to be removed and you will need a 6mm allen for drain plug, not in tool kit. Best to have one with 3/8" drive. Once air box is removed, battery and brackets will need to be removed to get to filter along with disconnecting sensors and relocating wiring. The nice thing about 11's are an enlarged opening in belly plate allowing oil from filter to drain without trapping in bottom. Good luck!
Thanks for the tips........ I'll be attempting this soon.

And don,t forget to get yourself a good oil filter wrench, before you attempt the filter removal. They put those filters on at the factory very, very tight.
