I was driving my girlfriends 07 Phazer FX last night and the ride was great except for kick up in the back on a series of 1 footers. Is there an easy way to calm down that back end on the rebound with an adjustment. Just asking here to see if anyone that has one has it dialed in. I weigh 200 with gear she weighs about 125 with gear.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks!

Do the FX shocks have rebound adjustment? It would be near the eyelet that is on shock shaft. If they dont then you either have to soften the springs or get shock revalved.Just be sure that reason its kicking is too fast rebound.Normally this is not real reason.Normally its is either to soft valving in compression or rebound is actually to slow which will make suspension pack up and then bottom after 2 or 3 bumps in a row.

It doesn't bottom but it does kick pretty good. I think it only has damping so that's why I asked if anyone knew of any little tricks besides a revalve. I am going to stiffen up the damping but was looking for some more advice.
Thanks!

Less preload on the spring will slow the rebound down.Try that just make sure its doesnt bottom then though.

On the front spring thats around the shock in the track I assume? I've got the blocks set on soft in the far back already. I had the clicker shock in the back set at 5 clicks from all the way soft, I bumped that up to 15 from soft (about middle) to see if that would slow it back down?
Would you still loosen up that front spring? I did pull down the front limiter one notch to get more ski bite last year before I softened the clicker in back to 5.
Thank You for your help, I don't ride it much and I'm trying to get the best ride for my Girlfriend.

There are no rebound adjustments on the rear shocks. Only compression on the rear shock. There isn't even that on the front track shock. only spring preload. If you want them changed you have to revalve them. Yamaha put good adjustable shock on the front of the sleds and skimped hardcore on the rear suspension and it really shows in the ride of these sleds. The front of these sleds soaks everything up good which even accentuates the fact that they put crap suspension and shocks in the rear of these sleds. I'm on revalve number three for my rear shocks trying to make them work right. About ready to give them the toss out the door for some different ones.

bruce at pioneer did a revalve on my 07 fx and it is perfect now. best 80 bucks i have ever spent on a snowmobile!

set rear springs to med, then increase rear comp damp clicker two clicks, test ride if it still is kicking, add two more clicks. This will stop the kickback , but the ride will be alot stiffer. This is a bandaid for crappy striaght rate shock valving. The cure is to have the shocks revalved for a progressive valving stack.
