How do you know when the jackshaft bearings are going bad?

I have a 03 RX1 with 6000 miles on her and the jackshaft bearigs where never done. I think there is 3 bearings total. Should I wait till they go completely, or just get them replaced now. I need help in this area. I am not very engin minded.

I would pull the seal off of the clutch side and see what it looks like. If it has rusted, then you should probably replace it. It will likely not look perfectly clean at first. Get some brake cleaner and spray it out. Then inspect the bearings and decide from there. The others are in your chaincass and as long as you change the fluid in there, they should be fine. Remember to be carful when removing the seal as it is flimsy and you don't want to damage the seal lip.

Replace it. There are a few other posts on here about it. If you let is go hey typically only last 3,000 to 6,000 miles depending on the riding you do. Better to be safe than sorry! :rocks:
