I just purchased some new carbides and I am assuming I need to take the skiis off to replace the carbides... How do you guys do this? Can I just rest the arm on the cement while I change the carbide? I am not looking to go out and purchase any special equipment to accomplish this task, so youe most cost efficient method would be appreciated. Any suggestions??

Do you own a floor jack? You can also turn the sled on its side.
Tip it on its side.

i just pull the jack from my truck out and lift an arm. An engine jack also works well.
Tipping it on its side will allow you to change them without removing the skis

Floor or scissor jack is probably something you have. But a little scrap piece of carpet over it so you dont scuff your paint

Can you really tip an RX-1 all the way on it's side (tipped 90° or more) without any oil or fuel leaking?
I believe I've read a few reports where if you tip it on the left side too far oil drains into the air box. I could be wrong though.
I use the Marlift now but in the past used one of those rear sled sled lifts on the front and prior to that used to use a automotive jack with a large block of wood on top (pushing up on the belly pan).
You don't have to get the skis much off the ground to change the carbides - just a couple of inches. When installing the new ones, sometimes it's easiest to use the sled's own weight to push the threads through all the way (once they're lined up).

I just grab and lift the ski by the loop, put a four by four or brick under the inside of the ski and then let it back down. This simple method raises the ski off the ground and allows you to get to the carbide from the outside of the ski.

I lift the ski I am working on by the front handle and slip a bucket under the floor board , when you let it back down the ski is suspended..

OK, these suggestions are awesome. I could easily take my jack for my truck and list the arm... That would probably be the easiest. I liked the bucket idea, but man you must be strong as hell to lift this and be able to put a bucket under the floorboard. I don't think I could do that.

i have 04 rx1. i put 168 carbides in this winter which took about 2 hours and i rolled it to the clutch side. i did not have any oil leakage. i would not leave my sled that way for a day or so but this worked for me. for changing carbides i use the floor jack to raise the front end off the floor and that works for me.

Cheap 2 ton floor jack from Sears, about $25.
Engine hoist and lift the whole the front end. also works great to lift the rear end for changing hyfax. Nothing comes close to the Mar-Lift though it works fast and it is a solid stable when jacked up. By that I mean the whole sled is 24" off the floor.

Don't hang the sled on the front bumper.
The plastic will flex and it will bend upwards. There's lots of old post on this.
