Thinking of going 4 stroke. How does the Rx1 compare to say a ZX Skidoo or Polaris Edge Chassis in the tight twisties and rolling hills? Is it just as fun to throw around and how does it corner in comparison? The ZX chassis Doo's are one of my favorite chassis sleds and most fun sled I've ever owned, but if I could go 4-stroke and have a VERY similar riding experience that would be the ticket. Thoughts?

Ewww thats a tough one out of the box it will take some tinkering and adjustments to get them in the same league as the sleds your describing, not sure if they would ever be similar. Its actually completly different, the sound is differnt the low end TQ stretches your arms at every exit out of a turn, and its just as much fun. Can you absoutly rail through corners like some of those otehr sleds i'm not sure with my viper nobody could catch me in the woods that I ride with. I'm not superman I jsut had confidence in the sled and it did what I wanted it to do. My RX is different and once set up will give you the same confidence. If your not worried about top speed a phazer would be more similar to those sleds and everyone that i know that rides one just has perma grin from it and at the end of the day thats what its all about just having fun.

Long awnser for NO it wont be the same without some mods and attantion to detail in the adjustments.

It also depends on the RX you start with. After riding an 03, an 04, then my 05 I can tell you they got significantly better each year but the 05 is WAY ahead with the mono skid. Put an Apex seat on and you've basicaly got an 06 nytro with real power and a plush ride. I'd stack my sled up against any ZX or edge chassis in any type of riding. Now...an 03 is going to take some dialing in to get the ride and handling the 05's came with stock....

I came off a Polaris XCR which just railed in the twistys, it also had no suspension and was extremely low to the ground. The RX is not the same type of sled out of the box. The RX1 is a cruiser beyond compare but it's not so much the handling as it is the motor (take one out for an hour and you'll know) Now depending on the year of the RX a lot changed. If you can find an 05 with the mono thats pretty much what you'll see on its newer counterparts so your good there. 03, and 04 had the proaction which if adjusted right can get the job done but it takes some playing with it. The front end mods include straight rate springs, stiffer sway bar, longer links (they attach to the swaybar) all of which the 04 had and the 03 needed. Basically with these parts and some minor tweaking it will run with the best of em ;)!
I can't convince my self I need a new sled simply because I love the one I have. Set it up right and you will love it but it's no ditchbanger and you won't toss it around like those other sleds unless your 200 plus she is a tad heavy, but i'm a small guy at about 150 anything you might lose in the corners this sled will more than make up for on the straights ;)!

I'd be looking for an 05 most definitely. I ride 90+% of the time on trails, but the trail are mostly tight and twisty. I have a whiplash injury so what I DON'T want or need is a sled that just won't turn well or is a beast to ride.

If thats the case go with a newer lighter sled the phazer is a blast to ride and if your not worried about top end across the lake it will more than hold it's own in the twisties. I think with your medical condition you may not want to push it with an RX you can get it setup right but you may get a neck injury while your working on it.

I actually prefered my warrior for carving compared to my 800 zx summit, I guess that's why I let go. But on the trails the zx was better.

Gotta say, I was able to ride a buddies Warrior for a few miles and it's a pretty nice sled. I don't know what it would be like in moguls or after 100 miles but it did feel very planted and it seemed to corner ok.
