How Ethanol Gas Attracts Water from the Air - Demonstration

Unbelievable how quickly ethanol captures moisture! Great demonstration of the seperation process.

Two years ago, I was able to purchase non ethanol gasoline from a Shell station here in Pennsylvania. Last year, non ethanol gasoline was no longer available from that local station. I would really like to know if non ethanol gasoline is available today.

I just purchased a lawn mower that has a label near the gas spout saying more than 10% ethanol in gas may cause engine damage.

I work at a refinery here in NB... we currently blend regular, and mid-grade. Supreme is not touched with ethonal. so if you do not want ethanol fuel, use supreme/high grade.

the warnings on gas pumps, gas tanks etc. is to cover the legality side of things. Its a known fact that high amounts of alcohal may and can damage engines that are not designed to run on high amounts of alcohol. basically like a alcohol dragster, these motors a specifically built to run alcohol, and if gasoline is used in them it may and can hurt them also. last i checked, our product leaving is between 9.2-9.7% ethanol....

Did tons off research about ethanol after blowing three 2 stroke engines last season. Here's what I found:

1. Ethanol produces less energy, therefore, lower mileage
2. It leans out fuel mixture (hence how I blew the 2 strokes)
3. Water separation issues
4. Almost everywhere is forced to sell E10 in regular

I have one gas station here that still sells E5 at the same price as E10 so I buy that for my car. For the sleds though, I will buy only premium with no ethanol.
