How far is it from cable, Wi to Hougton, MI on sled?

Were doing a back pack trip starting tommorrow on the last day we will be going from Houghton all the way to cable, Wi (lake namakogon actually) Anybody ridden that, I'm thinking roughly 225 miles?

How are the trails up there? Were heading out in the morning from Iowa.

Just got back from Cable on Sunday. Trails have a thick ice bed, covered by 2-3" of snow. They were better as you went North.

Not sure how far it is from Houghton to Cable but let us know after the ride the distance & time (I'd like to make that ride sometime!)

WOW! That is an incredibly long day. I've done the 15hrs before, but nowhere near 300+ miles. Congrats!

Lots of stops, lots of map reading, lots of lost time as well. Trails were good till about 50 miles from Cable then were whooped up bad, but fun to put the ZX2 to work!

so how far was it? we rode from phillips to houghton 198 mile in 7 hours..... only stopped for gas and then took off. just curious what it was to cable.

We got lost about 40 of the 310 so ~270 miles. We tried coming in through ashland and ran into the reservation dead end and had tom come back. But that was only 16 miles. We probably didn't take the most direct route, the trails aren't marked for shizz up there, 3 yr old sharpie on the arrow signs at intersections! We dontated some money to the local trail collection bins at every stop hoping it would help get them better signage.

Hey it was sledding and it was fun! I wont figure longer then a 170 mile day in the next trip though
