I have a normally closed tether switch I am going to install. Its appears to be the same one as on the Yamaha roll over kit. Its rated for 5 amps. Does anyone know how many amps flow thru the stop switch? Does it just trip a relay or does the full power run thru the stop switch.

Thanks.

All the power runs ties in to it, its like the the main breaker in your house. You should have no power flowing to anything.

Does it energize relay to provide power or is it connected inline straight to the battery?

Since it was 2 years ago since I did my ATV handle ones I don't remember. It ties in to a positive wire inside the wire boot (behind the right upper panel). It should be the positive wire coming off the ignition switch (key), to the battery or relays. So find the positive wire coming from the switch. Cut it one wire to one side of and the other to the other side, then ground it.

The stop switch looks like a it uses a smaller gauge wire than I would think if it was inline to the battery. That's why I was wondering if it engergizes a relay.

I checked the wiring diagram and the stop switch controls the relays for the the main load control and the ignition and supplies power to the gauge panel. You should be fine with a 5A switch.

Thanks Mooseman. That's what I was hoping. I will post it on TY when I get it installed - maybe this weekend weather permitting.
