Not unless I win the lottery!
If you really want a Sidewinder , and a spring only version , you must have an optimistic / positive attitude ,and assume that between now and next October/November , you will win the lottery .
So go ahead and buy the sled , and everything will work out .
Worry about November in November !
Now if you cant afford the $500 down payment ,then your screwed , and all the positivity wont help a damn !

Do you need the WIFE FOOLER sled wrap option ?No longer just thinking about it. Deposit made!
The wrap makes your new sled look like your old sled , she will never know !
Congrats !
By my calculations TRF better start making these Sidewinders next week , in order to Guarantee delivery !
Ask your dealer if the guarantee is like Pizza delivery on time deals ?
September 30 ,....or free !
Once all the Yamaha Sidewinders are made , then they can start on the Arctic Cat versions !
I can only assume that would be the arrangement Yamaha made !

Lol. Thanks. Actually, she's really on board. She offered to trade or sell her '09 Vector and keep my '06 Apex to help with the sidewinder purchase. She did also mention, though, we could then get another next year and she could have the sidewinder. Lol. I guess we better start playing the lottery!Do you need the WIFE FOOLER sled wrap option ?

Wow , is she ever on board , maybe too much so , if she is thinking about taking your Sidewinder after next year !
I don't think there will be a new sled next year that you will want more than the Sidewinder , but more likely a sled that will be more suitable for her .
Having a new fleet in 2 years would be sweet !
But if she likes the Vector or Apex , then you could , without having to rob a bank , just upgrade her to one with power steering , and other post 2011 enhancements .

Also, good ideas Sledroll. If my apex was post 2011 or already turbocharged, I might not have considered a Sidewinder. I would like her to have a newer vector. Heck if a buyer's market in the next couple of years, that or a viper may not be so farfetched as an upgrade addition.Wow , is she ever on board , maybe too much so , if she is thinking about taking your Sidewinder after next year !

Well said. From a long time Apex owner with 14-16 thousand miles, Now riding a VIPER - love the Chassis and handling -miss the 4 cylinder power and sound. But the sound of my Viper is not bad just different. Missing that instant throttle response and revs to high 10s or more if belt is a little narrow. This is coming from an Apex owner so don't torch me. It's a real simple ?. How many Apex owners would line up with a SW stock for stock for pink slips. I'm keeping my Apex for what that's worth, and I wouldn't do it. Yamaha gave us the best sled at the time. There now is something better. Doesn't have to be a 4 cylinder to be great.
Charley / Sasquatch every year nearly talks me into a Apex xtx with EPS-- again will keep my eyes open.
But guys my Cat chassis has been great, fit and finish on mine is good as well.
If anyone hears of an APEX XTX with EPS go ahead and tempt me.......... LOL

Nope. I'll be keeping my '11 XTX. And the reason is very simple- Final Assembly in Japan. There's no doubting the engine on the Sidewinder, but I'll let this Yamaha/Cat agreement mature a little while longer.
The Apex is simply the best all around sled ever constructed. Factoring speed & power, comfort, build quality, sound, smoothness, reliability, maintenance and value it can't be beat. To the points on tune ability- the Apex motor has 12k rpm to play with, the Sidewinder has 9k. With equal- or less- boost the Apex will always make more power, it's that simple.
Just finished up a trip to Saint Alexis where 3 '15 XRS Renegade 800's I ride with were losing their cool and had to take breaks every five miles. And I flew down the trails with a jet-turbine under the hood.

I've had 2 Apexes, and loved them both. I'm ordering a SW. It's time for something "different". That doesn't mean it'll be better, it just means...times change!Nope. I'll be keeping my '11 XTX. I'm pro Yamaha at heart, but I'm really just a snowmobile fan. If the SW is a turd, I'm sure I can find another Apex, and find it rather cheap.

I feel if I wait that Yamaha might not be able to fit a wide inline 4 cyl into a forward chassis and never come out with a new apex with the same motor. No room for your feet.
Just because one is a three and the other four cylinder does not make the four wider. The three has much larger pistons then the four, those who have measured have said the four is dimensionaly smaller or at least the same. The Apex motor has been fitted into the Nytro and the Viper chassis so room for your feet is not an issue.

I will not be buying a sidewider! I just can't get over the CAT DNA can't ride a warranty.

Nope... Staying with and happy with my Apex. Got it the way I like for years now and there is no way I can justify 15,000-17.000 grand for a sled. The sport is getting too expensive as it is and I am at a point in life where I"could " buy one but won't.
