I have an 05 rx-1 mc-express rear mount turbo. I usually run at about 3000 feet. I have just the stack of head gaskets to lower the compression. If I run straight AV gas how much boost can I run?

rx1turbo: Go to the sticky; second from top of page. Click on boost calc.

When the calculator opens you will see a list of values highlighted in yellow. You can change those to whatever you have.

11.8 stock compression, 74.00 bore, 58.00 stroke, 110.50 rods, change intake valve close to 57.00. Stock RX1 head gasket should be 0.025. I believe those are the correct values.

The calculator will then give you the static and dynamic compression ratios.

Then you can go further down and insert those values to determine fuel necessary. When you change the head gasket value, it will calculate new compression ratios.

rx1: we run 12 psi on premium only on rx's with mcx turbo, so you should have NOOO problem running 12 on 50/50

Guys, you also have to take in to consideration that the turbo that comes with the kit has it's limitations.

Every turbocharger has a specific hp range, when you try and run above the rated HP for a given turbo Back pressure, EGT, and Compressor heat starts to skyrocket.

You can't just turn up the boost you must know what your dealing with.

Hi EGT will kill exhaust valves, cause detonation regarless of fuel, and destroy engines.

You Can't make 250 hp with a 200 hp turbo, Physics won't allow it.

Ted.

rx1turbo - If your kit is the 240 kit running on 10 lbs, the turbo would be a Mitsubishi 16T turbo. It is capable of delivering 22 lbs of boost at the most, but I would not go past 18 lbs on that turbo. Dyno showed 304 HP at 18 lbs. To run this high boost I would recommend you running low compression pistons and good fuel.
