Confuesed about buying an ATTACK vs GT. How much Difference is there between handling and ride. Also like convienience of electronic suspension on GT over ATTACK. Where should my priorities be? I'm a 54 years old Trail rider yet want to be comfortable on bad trails . AT times I'm also semi aggressive. ??? 121 with convienience or 136 without??? IS There going to be much of a tradeoff with this new suspension?? Help!! CONFUSED!!!

Even thou I'm younger 8) , I too want the same kind of sled as you. Spending the last two seasons on a Warrior my gripe was with the weight. I had an initial push in corners that was corrected with 8 inch carbides up front (getting rid of the worthless stock 4 inchers) and pulling up the limiter straps a couple of inches. I really think the Attak will be a superior sled to the Warrior and definately a superior ride to any of the Apex's :ORC The control on the side will actually be easier to adjust (IMHO) than the electric shock on the GT because you won't have to reach up and push the mode button on the speedo. They say adjust on the fly but I doubt it. Nobody has answered my question as to whether or not once pushed (mode button) does the rocker switch stay in the shock adjust mode or default back to the handwarmer mode. I don't know about you guys but I am always adjusting my hand warmers. Go take your sled out now and try and reset the trip meter while moving :ORC

I'm still trying to decide for myself also. Attak or ER. I'm coming off an F7 EXT with 144", and the longer tracks do push. The Attak is 25 lbs. more, which doesn't sound like much, but with the ER already starting at 550 lbs., 25 extra lbs might make a difference. Usually the longer tracks ride much better, but according to many of the reviewers, the short track Apex's with the Mono ride so well that there is not much of a difference in ride quality. The only other concern I have is if there is any fish-tailing on the short-track Apex's? The Attak may track staighter if there is. I ride mostly in Quebec, but some areas are twisty and better for short-tracks. I'm leaning towards the ER right now.

f-cat, these same guys that have ridden and reported on these 2 sleds also say that they couldnt tell the difference between the 121" and the 136" tracks in the trails/twisties, except the fact that the attak hooks up better and if you do any off trail, powerlines, etc., ide go with the attak, the only thing i can see is if your worried about a few more mph top end and maybe slightly better in the tight twisties ide go with the apex. i went back and forth on the attak and the apex gt, i think i liked the way the gt looked better but it mostly was because of the windsheilds, i think if they threw a chrome blue on the attak with a little lower profile it would look the way i want it too.. i finally got the attak, i can change the windsheild when i get it..

I'm going back and fouth on the same thing, I ride mostly in Vermont, where there are lots of twisties.

I DON"T KNOW WHAT TO DO??????

Bob

I currently ride a 1999 SX triple with M-10

My decision was easy after 2 years of riding with my buddy & his Warrior!

My 05 mono was not close in the rough stuff to his Warrior every time we switched!

The 05 was much better than the 03 & 04 121s but, not a chance!

Now with the Attak having mono rear, there was no question to me!!!

I wish I had the time to start buying 136 skids & 136 extention kits, because just like in 03 & 04 everyone with a 121 will be changing them to 136s!!!

JMO!

Once you switch over to the electronic shock it stays there. After a couple seconds the gas gauge comes back on but as soon as you touch the hand warmer button it switches back to shock display. You can't adjust the hand warmer but you can still adjust the thumb warmer ;)!

Adjusting the non-electronic monoshock on the fly is very difficult. First the swicth is very hard to get ahold of with your gloves on when you are sitting on the seat. Second, I always forget which way to turn it so I have to crank my head over to the side and look down at the dial. While it can be done, it is not easy. With the electronic it is as easy as adjusting your handwarmers!

I guess I'm not the norm cause I rarely adjust my suspension once dialed in.

not on my Mono...I change it all the time depending on condition...there is a sweet spot depending on trail conditions.
