I've been running Ultimax belts and they last a long time, I did try changing the belt out and that didn't change anything. I was hoping that was the problem. I was thinking today that maybe the track was slipping so I wanted to tighten it a bit, I just ordered the part I broke...frano said:I had the same thing happen to my 03 Viper after 3500 miles on the oem belt. Belt looked ok, but after changing the belt, the noise went away and never came back.
But your track won't slip at low speeds. Only under acceleration and especially when you're accelerating in powder. IMO - I wouldn't tighten the track even if you can put 3 fingers between the track and the rail at the lowest point.
Can you move the brake disc up and down or side to side? I ask because maybe you have bad jackshaft chaincase bearing(s)?
