I'm 40, been riding since 12 - List your machines you've had as well with Major Mods
1982 - SS440
1985 - Phazer
1987 - Exciter
1990 - Exciter II
1993 - Vmax 4 750 - Bender Twin Pipes
1996 - V-Max 4 - PSI Quads - Sounded very mean and 125.6 on Radar
1997 - Vmax 700 w/Porting and PSI Tripples - 118 on Radar
1996 - Vmax 4 800 Turbo (a Different One) - Didn't last long enough to Radar
1998 - SRX with Porting - 122 on Radar
1998 - Venture 700 with Head Mod, Roller Clutch 112.2 on Radar
2000ish Viper
Then my father got back into Sleds (We have cottages side by side) and would only buy Yamaha so It allowed me to buy whatever I wanted as there were always lots of Yammies for long reliable trips..
2002 Cat 800 with 925 BB
2003 Firecat 700 - Minor Mods
2004 Rev 600 SDI - Wanted to try Rider Forward and Yammie Didn't have anything
2005 Rev 800
2006 Nytro - First Yammie to start getting seating Position right
2007 Cat F1000 - Minor mods - Great Rear end Didn't like 2 stroke
2009 Cat Crossfire SP 141 - Nice sled but just couldn't trust the 2 stroke
2010 - Nothing appealed to me so I bought an 2005 Venture 4 stroke (I wanted to experiment with the chasis to see if I could get a 144" to work well in the tight stuff in anticipation of an 144" New Apex for 2011
It worked really well the Venture with a Wide front end Kit, Nytro Skiis, Apex Shocks up front 9" shapers, 3" Seat and Bar Lifts and Excell Header really works well, Possibly best chasis I've ever had, needs another 2" higher seat lift and more power though.
For 2011 - As of right now I'll probably order a 144 Apex, wide front end and Yamacharger or Aftermarket Super/Turbo
I have always quested for the perfect handling sled. I think the 2011 Apex is the basis, at least for me of that sled.
The chasis was that good and that well sorted - EPS is a game changer
