How to break in brand new XTX 1.75

Go hard or go home lucky for me I always make it home .... The sled not always so lucky.... Lol

See u at the ride tomorrow wpgwarrior ..... Oh wait the dragon won't let u out lol

Do you think that video is titled correctly? Do you really think that they were performing an engine break-in? I'm not saying they weren't, but I didn't notice whether the engine was being subjected to any load ... Did you? I have never witnessed an engine break-in where they subjected the motor to that kind of heat soaking (all of the exhaust components were glowing, and the headers appeared to be deformed from the heat after the motor was shut down). I question whether this video is really a break-in procedure, but then again I wouldn't know the first thing about F1 engines. Just sayin'.

Got out in the La Salle area today and put on about 50 miles.

Was pretty good not regretting the xtx at all. First impressions, :jump: :jump:

Can't wait to finish this house Reno to have more time to ride!!

:yam:

as usual. personally ide baby it the first say 50 miles. make sure belts broken in, oils goodn the usual stuff. watch for the hyfax and any fluid leaks. my buddy got yamaha to do a winter check up on his sled, the hyfax got put on crooked. the one side wasnt on the grooves(rails) and the coolant cap wasnt on tight. he had a trail of green behinde him. but after 50 miles ya ide start havin some fun with it.

Is your sled all Black?

I might have passed you on the river?? I went out for a short rip on Wed and met a group going the other way, and there was a black Nytro with them.

Turn the key and let it warm up. Once up to temperature throw your leg over the seat and beat the SOB like it owes you money! That is what I did with my Apex and it was faster than my Dads apex that was broke in by the book.

I have been lucky enough to break in 2 new motors, both Yammies. They were bikes though, an 04 yz450 that I never had any problems with for 3 years, then the guy I sold it to beat on it hard for another 2 years before he sold it, and the valves still did not need adjustments.
The other was a 09 yammy wr250r enduro, the one cyl. motor taken off a R1 idea. I broke it in like the motoman link suggested, and had no oil usage or
problems. I only got 2500 k on it though, before I sold it for this sled.
