How to prevent Apex from Pushing in the corners?

how do i get my apex not to push in th corners but i dont want it tippy either and another thing is when i pin it from a dead stop it wheelies and spins for 50ft what can i do
 
The stock ski lacks a deep keel to really provide a bite in the corners, but you can make some suspension adjustments that will make it coner better. Follow these two changes.

1) You need to take your Control Rod Wrench that Yamaha has supplied you and loosen off the Inner Nut. Now measure just whereabouts you are on the scale and check your adjuster length. You will see that there is a Min and a Max scale on the wrench. You adjust the Outter Nut and go about half way from the Standard mark in the middle to Max mark, that will be two marks on your wrench scale. That will make a big difference, now you can fine tune it from there whether you need more or less transfer.

2) Now go up front and loosen your front springs on your shocks right off. Then tighten them down finger tight and then go ONE FULL TURN, this will soften up the front end so it's not so stiff or hard and stop the bounce you get when you are hard into the turns.

Try these two changes before adjusting the limiter strap. If you don't get enough bite in the corners from these changes, then consider changing the limiter strap.
 
i tried that and it cornered better but also bottomed out real bad andwas bad in deep snow. when i tired to put it back to normal is where i messed up the shock threads so be carefull the 2 nuts dont turn together.

I have done some of the same things as Swiss Sledder. One additional thing that I did was tightened my limiter strap from standard by 1 hole. I also followed a post that was in the FAQ area where the guy told me to lift the front end of the sled off the ground. Loosened the lock nut and back the adjustments off until my springs rattled. I then tightened the adjustment until the spring just stopped rattling. I then tightened the lock nuts and made sure both side were adjusted to the same length. I set the clickers to the normal settings (I have the GT model). This made the sled corner much flatter then before. I also purchased a pair of slydog powderhounds and 6" carbides. The skis are 2" wider then the stock skis so you have more stability just from the width. The sled rides and handles great.

I think you are right I seemed to get a lot of ski lift prior to loosening up the springs. My sled cornered and handled way better after I loosened up the front springs.

Give that a try and I think you will be impressed with the results.

Hmmm, C&A Razors should not push in fluffy snow conditions. They will push under hard-pack because the deep keel has a hard time digging in.

Since you have floats on the front, just do item #1 in my original post and see if that improves things. After riding it and if you still have too much push, then suck up the limiter strap one hole. This will increase weight over the skis.

One additional thing that might help is using the throttle properly to limit weight transfer. When going into a corner, let of enough gas to safely take the corner but do not let if off fully because this will cause the weight to transfer fully to the rear preventing your skis from getting a good bite in the corner. I use this technique and it really helps to carve the corners and keeps the skis planted.
 
I added Woody's Dooley's to mine, and lowered the front of my sled so the A-arms are just above level. Shortened the strap one hole, and now I am playing with the shock adjustments.
I stlii jump my sled quite a bit, and have no problems with bottoming.
 
does anyone have a picture of the limiter strap? I looked for holes on mine and could see any. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place. . . in the front of the suspension there are 2 on 07 RTX's correct?
 
On my Attak I have the C&A XT Pro's. They have a HUGEcenter keel. The outsides of the skis have smaller keels. The center keel will grab the loose snow in the corners. The outside keels keep the snow under the ski. Great cornering. They do have higher steering effort at slower speeds. They corner great on hard pack also. For this I can leave my transfer alone. So I can still pull a wheelie when wanted.

Do what Swiss says. Learn to use the throttle. On a 2-stroke you come into the corner then off the gas. Power back on as you exit the corner. The Apex/Attak stay in the gas in the corner. Do not let go of the flipper. Stay underpower as you go throught the corner. Nail it comming out.
When you let off the gas the engine braking and the friction from the track will pull the weigh forward and slow you down to compensate you hit the gas transfering the weight back again. At slow speeds the creates a rocking effect. Stay in the gas just above clutch engaugement and the corners will fly by.

I use C/B's 8" carbides nothing fancy just great carbides. I loosened the preload on the front spring quite abit. Almost to the point they are loose but not.
My Attak corners so well my buddies Gade could not keep up. :) :).. He has switched camps now.

Now to get it to play in the deep stuff better


Oh I do belive there are 2 limiter straps on the rtx
