A week ago i tipped my new sled on its side backing down a icy hill (no studs go figure)

It bent the handle bars and broke the plastic under the windshield..

I ordered a new set of handle bars $34 and the plastic $78

But im heasatant to install the bars..(i bent them back) becuase of the idea i might ruin the hand grips removing them!!

ANyone have any good idieas to get them off??

I had to replace mine also, I used a small flat head screwdriver. But I have trouble trying to get something that sticks to glue them back on.

Handgrips

I tried to save mine when I went to the mountain handlebars, I was very careful, they are epoxied on , usually one spot near the end of the bars, the first side came off pretty easily , the second was more difficult , after you remove them you can test them with a 2 amp battery charger to see if they still work. I don't know how much luck you will have, mine came off I thought rather nicely but they didn't work any more, I bought new ones and had to epoxy them on, my dealer says that because they heat up so much if you don't epoxy them they will get really rubbery when they crank up. Good Luck

I took mine off of a set of wrecked bars to put on my Renthal bars and they came off rather easy drill rivit and twist slightly til epoxy breaks . For now they are just rivited on as i plan for Acerbis ralley 2 handguards that will secure the end of the grip to the bar.

I've used compressed air, blown into a small hole at the outside end of the grip on bars that don't have any rivet holes in them. This pops them free and they slide right off.
I'm pretty sure this should work on these bars too, just plug the rivet hole with your finger.
