Can anyone tell me how to dissasemble the RX-1 primary? I see the main shaft is threaded into the fixed sheave, but I would like to know how to dissasemble.
Worried about trying to warranty the sheaves, as i already treid to sand them with scotch brite, due to grooves around the center.

The stationary (inner) sheave is threaded onto the spider assembly with left hand threads. You need a holder and grunt tool to disassemble it. The groove is normal on a used clutch as that is where engagement happens. The biggest thing is to look closely for heat cracks in the sheaves.

No cracks at all, just that the clutching was slipping on me excessivly at engagment, and it really put some decent grooves in it. Probably about .020-.03 deep.
Dont want to have the clutch turn into a belt shredder.
