How to tow a downed sled???

I've been on both ends of the rope. :o|
Towing out of the mountians can be a challenge. Especially when the sled breaks down on the WRONG side of the ridge! Happened to a buddy one spring. Bad part was since it was hot that day, we didn't have the hoods on. So the engine bay filled up with snow from the roost. Added approx 100 lbs of extra "Cascade concrete" to front of the sled. We kept having to shovel snow out/off of the sled, just so he could steer!
Finally was able to drag it to the top of the ridge. Un-tied it, told my buddy to hop on, and we pushed him over the edge. Good thing he had brakes, because it was the only way out!
If the broken sled can steer and stop, we usually tow it with a rope and put a rider on it.
If there's no brakes or steering, then we tie a ski up tight to the rear bumper.
There is also the unwriten rule, that once your back down on the trail. You HAVE to roost your buddy a couple times while your towing him out! :tg:
