Thinking about heading up friday or saturday to ride around Grayling or Gaylord area, just wondering how the trails are or if its going to be off trail to get a ride in,

Thanks

We've been running on the base in most areas around town for the last few weekends. It's been surprisingly good really, considering what the groomers have been given to work with. Good suspensions and sharp carbides/studs were a must. Last weekend though, you could hear the fat lady singing about everywhere you went. Some of the local trails looked as though they hadn't been groomed since the previous weekend, and it wasn't real hard to see why. Woods and 2 track fine, but I wouldn't plan on using trail 7 much at all.

I did take a ride out to the Lakes of the North area last weekend and it was still pretty good. They closed off the rollers (that run adjacent to Mancelona road) and a trail that goes out to L of the N but groomed a trail along side the road that eventually dips back into the woods and meets up with the old trail, snow was pretty good out there, not sure after last week now, but we were thinking of trying it this weekend for a ride. And yes, 7 is terrible now, dirt, bumpy where there is snow, and water puddles. But, if you really wanna ride, then just say whatever and just use 7 to get to where you have to. Not sure about the lake now, but the ice fishers are still out there.
