Are Hydraulic Gas Cell Shocks on the Mountain Lite rebuildable?

NO, and they suck, will be one of the first things to switch on my sled.

what are you switching too?

Thanks for the info.
I'll probably leave them on until they start leaking, unless they are so horrible that it hurts my back.

Not sure as of right now what i want for a shock but i am sure it will be either Ohlins or Fox in the rear and Floats in the front.

Why do you need fancy shocks like Floats, Ohlins or Foxs for powder riding?

Powder riding isnt all that i do.
I am coming off a IQ 800 mod sled from last year. I like to beat the hell out of my sleds and to do that you need to have good shocks or stuff breaks even faster. I ride with a lot of the guys in the movies like Turnagin Hardcore, Braap and those movies. I like the powder but i also like hitting 100 ft jumps every ride. I know, now you are going to ask why did i choose the Mtn lite. Well i wanted a sled i could turbo and this was the lightest one that yamaha makes and i have always been a fan of them so i thought i would give this one a try. I will see how it goes and if it dont like it i will let the wife ride it and buy another IQ race sled.
Other than that the floats lose some weight from the stock shocks and are much more adjustable and look a hell of alot better in my mind. I think it doesnt matter what kind of sled you ride, having good shocks makes for more enjoyable rides and easier on the body, especially when you are jumping everything in sight.

I'm a flat land powder rider, I'll be getting this sled for just that. There's no climbing here, but we get nice powder bowls in certain area's. We don't have any groomed trails here because 80% of our riding is on bodies of water. Some of those lakes get some fun drifts on them, and deep snow in the corners for playing in. The 20% trail is rough as hell, there isn't that much of it so it's okay, but if the shocks don't hold up well enough then I'll likely upgrade to floats or something too.

Ahhh, I see. Mountain sleds typically dont get great shocks from the factory so I kinda wondered why you guys felt the need to upgrade.
I know that Polaris used to put their "Lite" rear suspension on all their mountain sleds and that suspension was so cheap it was used on their entry-level fan-cooled sleds and had cheapie hydraulic shocks, but it worked fine for powder.
I could see the need for better shocks if you did some trail riding or if you did some off-trail playing that involved some pretty serious jumps.

I liked Snotech's September issue review of the mountain lite...it recommends to a tee exactly what I want to buy one for.

It was a great sled just want something different. I loved it, power was awesome, looked great and handles even better, especially in the air. I just want a four stroker now and love the thought of boost. If i dont like the way it handles with boost(mtn lite) i will probably go back to the IQ, we'll see what happens.
