Can someone post a picture of the hyfax wear line? I just put 1200 miles on my 06 RTX and I think they are down to the wear line in the middle.

I do not have a picture, but my dealer looked at my hyfax at 800 miles (2007 Attak) and said they had 60% left on them. They look like alot of wear at front of rear scissor (down to line) and good every place else (wavey though). I look at them and think they are done. I now have 1400 miles on and they look the same. I would bet yours are like mine and are still good. I will change them for next year, but until then I am just going to ride and not worry about it. This is my first Yamaha, and I normally get 3000 to 4000 miles out of hyfax and then change them just for piece of mind. I do not think the Yamaha will go that far though.

In general - Yamaha slides wear fast until theres approx 30% left and then they stop wearing. I've got 2,000 miles on my Apex slides and doubt I'll need to change them until at least next season.

it is very tough to see the wear line in a digital image online..typically you can feel it with your thumbnail, and its truly easy to see with a light on the subject.

Also, you can look at the back end..and see where it sits in relation to the aluminum rail(thru rear windows of track) and figure out where the line is from that.

typically the highest wear area will be just infront of the INNER wheels near scissors...basically In between those rearward inner idlers and the back set of outer idlers...this is where they will wear thru first...

I measured them with a tape measure and a 10 mm wrench: There is plenty of life left except for in the center of the skid. The center is around 5/8 " and the 10mm wrench is not close to going over it. Hopefully they will make it the rest of the season. Thanks
