Does it have to be on the jackstand or on the ground when you do this, or doesn't it matter? THAT sounds like a really cool trick!!!

you have the track off the ground. i hang the rear of my sled from a 2x4 in the garage and then take a pry-bar to get the slide started in to the track window

I have never changed a hifax before in my life, so this summer I bought one of those hyfax removal tools. It is basically a rod with a big weight on in it that slides back and forth. You screw one end in to the hyfax and then just pound it out. Like I said I never changed hyfax before in my life and I did mine in about 30 minutes the first time, and I should be able to do in about 10 minutes now as long as everything goes to plan. The tool is about 60$ which is somewhat alot to replace a 10$ part, but I have it for the rest of my life and it saves me alot of time, so I highly recommend it.

Put on oversized wheels and most of your hifax wear will be history. Smoked a set in 300 miles first trip in Muni last year. Put oversized wheels on and about 1500 more miles. Not changing them this year.
